So about how long will it take for the patch to be complete? Do they do like sony and start writing the new code after they bring down the servers (aka 2 hours + downtime on patches) or do they write it all up, bring down the server, and bring it back up asap? Just curious.

You will not get on the good sides of the GM's by asking for ETA's, the server comes back up when it comes back up and that's all there is to it. They are fairly good with patch times usually.
