How do you get on Irc???

Hello I am on a cable network using charter. the port irc uses is blocked by my network how can i reopen the port so I can log on to irc anyone know how to open portS?
 
If IRC is blocked on a network level.... you cant use IRC locally - you will have to find an open proxy or a shell account to login to and run an IRC client.
 
the problem is anytime i hit the irc link it says page cannot be displayed all I got to do is open the port it uses if thats not the case how do I do the proxy thing you was talking about

Well then, thats a different story

go to google and find mIRC - download and install it - then connect to the shardsofdalaya.com IRC server and you should be all set.
 
I gotta open the port 6667 I have opened a port before when it use to block some game i played i just cant remember how i opened the port
 
If you have no router then you probably have a firewall - just disable the firewall - or read the manual. It would be a lot easier than me trying to explain it to you.
 
I just downloaded the mirc client and am able to join servers that use the 6667 port i looked on the server list but i dont see shardsofdalaya.com on it anyone know how to add it?
