"Hidden" style bonuses?

During my initial search for more WR information, I read an old post stating that monks, when in the aggressive style, did not suffer from the avoidance loss of the style. This would make this style always superior to "normal" for monks. Unfortunately I can't find the post now.

Is this still true for monks? Also, is this sort of thing true for any other classes in a different form?

Like warriors not losing the 10 % in "hit ability" when in defensive stance? I am going to assume that no, that is not true for a warrior, since they get vindicator's stance at 65 (it's called something like that I think?) that uses no stamina, and is 12 % mitigation.

I can only assume that it doesn't work like this for monks, although I have run no tests, nor read any post, that would make me believe that it does.

It used to be that warriors did not gain the penalty for being in defensive and monks did not gain the penalty for being in aggressive. This is no longer the case. :)

The post by Dynia in this thread is the VERY OUTDATED info that you might have found, for those who want a history lesson.

Yes, I believe that was the thread I saw that prompted this question. Thanks for the confirmation that it's outdated!
