it sounds to me like you have patched to the live server, and not to our server. make sure that you started by downloading and running the SoD patcher from our website after you installed the game from disks. you do not want to just install the game and then run run it directly from the exe, always use the SoD patcher. hope that helps, and welcome to SoD.
