Well, it's been a long time since I've played Everquest... I currently play WoW on Alleria, but I need an off game to play in my spare time.

I found this website after scouring the internet for an MMO to play and was I happy to find this!

So, I popped in Everquest Evolutions and tried to patch it up to the expansion this server is on, only to my dismay you have to now login to get to the patcher!

I've checked the forums and nothing really stated how to get past this... is there any way for me to patch without making an account or buying Titanium?

I am not 100% possitive but I believe that this is $0ny's way of attempting to make it more difficult for private servers to function as people can no longer share their CDs with friends and so forth. That may not be the exact reason but yeah they recently copied WoW in that you now have to log in to get the patches. Kind of dumb but whatcha gonna do.
So you might just want to go drop the $10 or whatever it is to buy one of the bundle packs for the commercial game and patch it up with your free 30 day trial period and then cancel right away.
Still not a bad price for being able to play on this awesome server.

If you install from a Titanium CD you do not need to run the EQ patcher at all.

New copies are available on Amazon for $13.00 used for $10.00.

Yeah I'll have this game in like 3 hours... I'm pretty excited.

So, what's the experience rate on this server? Is it low enough to make partying worth while? Are there raids and what not?

Experience is faster than Game, mainly due to the way group experience works. In a group experience bonuses are applied such that regardless of the number of people in a group you'll always get 50% of the experience the highest level member would receive solo. This makes grouping by far the fastest way to XP.

There is an active raid scene with a lot of quality custom raid content.

Plus the way tradeskills and quests are set up yo dont even have to group through a large chunk of your levels. My rogue made it to level 30 with maybe grouping once but that was just with one other person to get quest pieces. Most of my levels were done through quest turn ins (turning in stolen items to the rogue guild mostly) and trade skill experience.
Will you have the best gear for your level by doing that? No, but still possible. :)
