I really enjoy the site, it looks very well put together and I must compliment the devs on the outstanding database programming and quest implementation.

anyway, enough praising! I just have a couple of questions about your server, I'm hoping most of them will be answered :)

1. How are the teams balanced?

2. Would you say that the good team has the upper hand over the evil at the moment? or is it the opposite?

3. As I'm sure some of you know, EQEmu's Guildwars server has been bashed for GM favoritism. Are the devs involved with a particular guild or are they neutral? (I hope I dont offend anyone with this question)

Umm I will post more questions as they come to me! I have a majority of the site and I'm loving what I'm seeing. I wouldn't be asking these questions if I weren't trully interested in bringing a couple of friends here :)

I really am interested in the pvp and I like going with the underdogs most of the time heh. Thanks for your time!

1: I don't believe that there's a "good and bad" team.
2: If you by good mean good guild, I would say GotW pretty much has the upper hand, but DC is gaining on them;)
3: GM's are all in GotW, but they don't give their guild member advantages, and has also helped me a lot with DC.
 
addressing some of your other questions.

The only diffrence in the good and Evil races is one starts in erudin and the evil starts in thurgadin if I had to choose a evil of good race i have a little of bolth I see no diffrence other then faction and the factions only effect the good and evil towns as far as ive noticed.

Dimitri....this isnt a GuildWars type server if thats what your thinking :roll:
 
1. Well, this isn't much like Guildwars, so PvP, although possible, isn't really much of a concern. Especially since we all currently have a common enemy. There are many RP and OOC reasons to like or dislike each other, and you are free to play it however you choose. Not every zone is PvP though. Not to mention, WR is still sort of in a Beta-esque phase, constantly changing and evolving.
2. If you asked me, I'd say that the evil COULD have the upper hand, but don't really use it for fighting against the good. Either way, the light would prevail in the end, so it's a moot discussion.
3. The devs are indeed in a particular Guild, Guardians of the Winter. And even some regular folks have been blessed enough to join their ranks, and share in the glory. They remain very neutral as far as good and evil go, but their exact policies are unknown to me. I do know, that they will not stand for any one force to assume complete control of the world.

At that, GotW is a guild for them to have fun in, wether it be while tending to player's needs, or taking down some monstrous beast. Those with the great knowledge, do not share it freely, and it must be earned, like everything else on Winter's Roar.

You need not worry about unfair advantages, for when it comes down to it, the way this server is run, every faction, guild, and person has the same chance to fulfill their destiny, as the next.

For some clarification, Guardians of the Winter is not the developer/GM guild. Yes, all the GMs happen to be in GoTW, but the majority of us were in the guild before we became GMs. Other guilds are more than welcome to establish themselves. In fact, we encourage it. I WANT to see more than one raiding guild besides GoTW. :)
 
What Nuralia said. It just happens to be from where we've picked most GMs. We do not in any way give ourselves advantages. Every bit of equipment my characters have I've earned myself.
