Install EQ as usual, or copy an existing EQ directory.
Run the official EQ patcher and allow it to patch to Live. Click on Advanced/Options and check all expansions up to LDoN. Click OK, and then Download.
When it's done, exit the patcher, download the latest Files.zip from
http://www.shardsofdalaya.com/
Unzip Files.zip into the EQ folder used in the above steps. Make sure the files are being unzipped directly to your EQ folder, not into a seperate "Files" folder under your EQ folder as might happen with some settings in extraction programs.
One thing you can do to make sure, is unzip Files.zip into a folder on your desktop. Open up that folder and you should see lots of files. Now open up your EQ folder. Select everything in the "Files" folder and copy it over to your EQ folder. Say yes to overwriting anything.
After that you have two options: to use eqw, or not.
For eqw, open up the eqw folder under your main EQ dir. Run eqw.exe. When it asks to find the game, point it to eqgame.exe in your main EQ dir. You should now be able to play. You can create a shortcut to eqw.exe if you wish.
If you don't want to use eqw, open up your EQ folder, RIGHT-CLICK and drag eqgame.exe onto the desktop or wherever you want. A menu should pop up, choose "Create shortcut here". Once created, right click on the shortcut and choose properties. In the Target field, add a space and the word patchme, both outside of the quotes that might already be there.
It should look something like:
"C:\Program Files\EQ\eqgame.exe" patchme
If the pathname to your EQ folder has no spaces, then the quotes aren't necessary. For example:
C:\EQ\eqgame.exe patchme
Click OK/Apply/whatever and run the shortcut. You should be able to play.
Hope that helps, good luck.
EDIT: Damn... two other replies in the time it took for me to type all that... YOU BASTARDS!
