Hi guys. New player here. I am trying to play an SK (had one on live at lvl 41) and am finding it almost impossible to play as one here. I made an Iksar SK. Why an Iksar you ask? I had a Troll SK on live and was familiar with the swamp area... Or so I thought lol. So I didn't want to go with a Troll again and the Iksar are just so cool looking lol. Now I am finding it harder and harder to kill things without dying. So I thought I would post a few questions.
Is a 2 handed piercer still a primary SK weapon? I was told that a 1 hander and a shield are a better combo on here. Isn’t that more of a paladin thing? I don’t know, never had a pally on live and didn’t group with em much. I did like their buffs and rez’s though lol.
I saw some SK pets in action and was told by a few other SK's that the pets here are severely underpowered. Is this true or just something people are saying?
The pet I actually saw in a fight didn't even hit the mob the SK was going after the whole fight. The froggy then turned on the pet (for some odd reason... He didn't hit it or do anything to get aggro...) and killed it in 2-3 swings? I don't know, maybe the pet was just really low level so I can't make any assumptions.
I also noticed that fear does not work. How do SK's solo on here?
I also had a Warrior and Mnk on live, as well as a Shm so I started these classes on here as well. Got my warrior up but deleted him because he was so boring to play. All you do is stand there and hit things. No cool abilities or nothing. Really easy to level though and capable of carrying lots of loot.
The Mnk is really fun to play, and a challenge as well but unlike the tank, the Mnk has FD and all sorts of Neo like moves. (I know Kung Fu...) So I am having a blast playing as him. However where my warrior could solo whites, my monk is stuck to soloing DB's or grouping with a Clr or Shm. Any advice on how to bring up his damage and avoidance?
Also is it possible for a monk (or any other tank) to take agro away from a rouge? I have never managed to do this, the little buggers hit for such insane damage that the mob just switches over to them and stays on them for the duration of the fight. This makes the Warrior just switch to DPS and even the Taunt skill doesn’t seem to take it away for long, if it manages to take it away. This in turn makes the healer heal the rouge like crazy. (Lol maybe rouges should be able to wear plate mail? Hehe)
Thanks for your time guys!
