I think you're confused.

Read the main page. This is a free EQ-Based server, with a different storyline, items, characters, zones, etc.

Your characters are on SOE servers.

You need to start reading. Start on the main page (not the forums) like has already been suggested. There is a "Getting Started" guide. You would do well to read it.
