Heartland Council augment and tanks

I brought this on a thread I hijacked in Discussion ; I wanted to see if it's intended the council augment for tank classes (I mean plate, speaking specifically about a paladin) is slot 5 (silk, leather). In fact the pally I was playing has no type 5 at all in his gear , since he's in full plate which sounds logical. I could make him wear a type 5 but I'd lose tremendous AC and prolly some other stats. Wouldn't it make more sense to adjust the augment for WAR PAL SHD BAR CLR to a type 2 ?
I know this brings problems since many people already set their gear according to this situation, but somehow I feel there's something wrong. I don't know if the problem happens to other classes/factions (like: is the blackscale SK augment type 5 also ?). Feel free to comment.
 
Hmm, if it's those specific classes then yes, it should probably be a type 2 augment. Are you positive it's just plate classes though? I don't have direct acces to it atm and am going to sleep soon, so I'll take a closer look at it tomorrow.
 
Bah I cant login to check, but I understand better : since the faction augment is restricted to several other classes, including RNG and BST who wear leather, I guess this augment has to be type 5.... I guess it'd be too much work to make one augment for PAL SK WAR, one for leather classes, one for casters for example......
Too bad I'll ahve to wait for a cool belt like suggested Daedeus :'(
 
Silver crown augments go for archetype, not for armor class... so, we have 1 shared by clerics, shamans and druid (type 5), another for int casters (type 5) another for dps (type 5) and another for tanks (type 5). I agree that tanks shouldn't have any type 5 item, so yes, imo it wouls make more sense if tank type was type 2
 
Ooops my bad I didn't see that, wasn't looking for the right words I guess ; at the beginning I thought it was very specific but all the faction augments are concerned.
So this hasn't been looked at since september... I guess we have to get the PoA belt or nothing then. Atm with Iaeolan's idea not to wear the augment it's just not possible to show I belong to the Council of innovation in a RP way :(
The problem is still that it's not restricted to plate users , I mean putting an augment shared with leather users mess up the item. And according to Zaira this version of the augment is for tanks, which I consider only plate users (with notable exceptions on this server, I know).
 
We have no intention of changing this, that's why it hasn't been "looked at".
 
Looking through the top 5 warriors, it seems that the only type 5 augment any of them have is their WR belt. I suppose as long as belts keep type 5 all is well.
 
Yeah I did the search, it seems the quest following the faction augment for tanks is bring a raid in PoA.
Why not.
