Having a character and an alt with similar names

Is it against the rules? I play a SK named Sithik, and a shammy named Sithir, which are both totally acceptables names. However, is it illegal to 2box characters with almost identical names?
 
Rules dont say anything about having characters with similar names so... I'm going to go with its probably ok.
 
I did the same thing, my druid being Arikaonna and my monk being Arikaspar, reason i did that was for RP purposes tho, as they are brother and sister

I also didn't realize that "spar" in Arikaspar's name could be a problem, seeing as how he is a monk, until just now while replying to this post. If "Arikaspar" is unacceptable for a monk pls let me know and ill be happy to change it.

Havining similarily spelled names for toons you 2 box is not a problem, as long as each one does not violate the naming policy.

If I'm not mistaken, and what a few have attempted which IS against the rules is this: having the two character's names combined say or mean something (IE: one toon named Knick and other one named Knack, or any other 2 toon combinations that when combined is a play on words and violates the naming policy).
 
The interpretation I've heard is that both names must be individually within the naming guidelines AND collectively within the guidelines. For example, Hodge is fine. Podge is fine. But 2boxing a pair of toons named Hodge / Podge is not. No witty sayings derived from combining the names.
 
and i would imagen trying to duplacte someone ealses name would too probly brake the rules too example someguythatsnotyou Juorn andthisisyou Juorm

One thing to keep in mind, however, is that often healers (or whoever) will use /tar <1st three letters of someone's name> to target people out of their groups (ie. /tar aer to target Aeran), so when people have the same names (or have pets with the same name) it gets pretty crappy for them. Just some food for thought~
 
Wiz at least I know is ok with it. I have a char name Doir and one named Doiir, which Wiz is aware of. He made fun of me for not being creative, but akaik doesn't mind.

And there's player Rabb and GM Rab.

I don't really think this is a case where it would be disallowed. There are some examples in the thread where it would be disallowed though.
