Halas Faction repairing

A simple request/idea i came up with.

due to the conking mallet adventure for the mainquest i had damaged my halas faction to threatingly with them due to a bp proc that killed a citizen mid-conking.

i beleive lore wise the citizens of halas are not fond of everchill orcs so my idea is as follows.

turning in orc ears the the cooridinator in everfrost should raise faction to maxinum of indifferent or such with halas to help repair faction. Its rather annoying being attacked by halas guards turning in everchill orc ears.

I agree that that is annoying. But if we are going to have faction redemption for Halas, I think it oughta be available to lower levels as well. Not too many lvl 30 somethings tripping to Everchill.

It should be stated that you can turn in Gnoll ears to the guy in the pit of the Warrior guild in Halas, and receive Halas faction. Of course, you only have to pass about 6 guards and several townsfolk to do so, so you might wanna find an illusion Barb or something along those lines. not even sure if that will help, tbh. Maybe having someone at the turn before the ramp into Halas for faction turn ins. Before the guards, closer to the noob grounds. Maybe turn in something like orc bracers. Would have to muck with some pathing, since that NPC would spend half of its time killing wandering gnolls. Just an idea, and not a really good one at that!

The problem is then guard farming is opened up... but if they put a strict limit on the faction fixes so that you could only fix the damage of a couple kills it may work.

xp farming.... like happened on like... like happened enough on live they made uber guards to stop it... and still happened because even uber guards didnt summon.

Why is everything you say bad and wrong? The guards in halas give like...no xp. Also they give no damn money. This is similar for all cities, in which incidentally you already get -50% xp. Please figure things like this out in the future before bringing up problems from live that are already addressed quite thoroughly here.

Well for the stupid silver crown aug I spent roughly 10.5hours straight killing those damn birds in the lake. Make it as retarded and stupid as that. People wont want to fuck their faction up if the quest to fix it is that annoying.

The problem mainly is with new players that can find the forums but are to stupid to read the wiki. I dont think them being retarded and refusing to read the wiki should be held against them on faction mistakes.
Dont make it easy but give people a chance to repair it to at least not KOS. Im not asking for ally faction by any means.

Would be fun if they made it so opposing races would give faction.. For instance, kill trolls and ogres for dwarf city faction. Put a little incentive by the means of a T5ish encounter as the king of each city. Shit would be fun. Unfortunately, WoW took that idea, so people will think I'm trying to suggest SoD should be like WoW. I'm not.

"No" xp is relative. Guards in Freeport never gave good exp either... but I ground several characters to 50 there back in the day because they popped fast, were easy pulls and had plenty of places to afk during downtime... And about 90% of the times I went to kill them, they were already camped... so yeah. Hell even the low level DE guards were terrible exp were it not for the fact that most people could easily solo red cons.

As for the -50% penalty, if there is one it is hidden... since most noob hunting zones are where you'd be hunting guards and only a couple have zone penalties listed, none anywhere near 50%.

Eventually you're going to reach the impass in logic that **** had.

Noobs need guards. People kill guards because they're convenient. To keep guards around, we must make them spawn very quickly... which makes them more convenient. See what I'm getting at? Even if guards are -50% exp... the fact that you never have to wait on them, never have a long pull, never have to find them, don't have to run for half an hour to get to them, etc: would easily make up for all that and make them still excellent exp grind spots for soloing casters.

Just make guards immune to spells and regen a ridiculous amount... like live should have done if they really wanted to discourage guard killing.
