Grobb SK quest spawns

while doing the armor quests for various pieces, I and a few others, have come to a stumbling block.

one part requests:
escaped tiger skull, giant swamp leech blood, drowned soul undead essence
I do not know what piece these are for, as I have not finished this yet. But I assume it is for leggings..

I saw the tiger once about 4 or 5 levels ago, while searching for another part. Not knowing it was for this quest part, but rather thinking it was for the escaped animals quest, I left it alone. I have not seen it spawn since.

Giant swamp leech -- I have seen one in 3 to 4 levels. I was the lucky one here, none of the other's who were doing the quest have seen one at all.

Drowned soul -- have not seen a drowned soul spawn, so i have been killing every undead i could find to see if it dropped it. None so far.
EDIT: i was informed by another Sk that the mob that drop this item is one of the still red npcs I have noticed. So scratch that one.

To date: i have spent 3 or 4 levels on this one quest part. None of the other pieces have been a problem (other than perhaps rareity of drops -- and I do not see that as a problem so long as the mobs spawn regularly, as i was hunting for exp at the time.
Now everything in the zone is either green or red with the exceptions of less than a handfull of mobs. (mainly higher sporemen)


I was wondering if someone could check on spawn rates for these quest mobs, and perhaps increase the rate of spawn, as I have been killing everything in hopes that I killed the placeholders for two days with no luck yet. Others also have been searching, so even if they do spawn we are in competition for this piece of the armor.

I'm on this quest too. I think it's all a matter of luck.

Like you, I saw the little tiger a few levels ago, never seen him again.

The undead, been doing the same thing you have, I may stop now =)

the Leeches however, the other day last week they were EVERYWHERE. I was in a group and we were literally staying in one area, and they kept comming, at one point we had 2 at once.

I think it's all just a luck thing man, I'm expecting logging into an AMBUSH of those little tigers when I get back in.

(P.S. The technical term for a group of hunting Tigers, I believe actually is AMBUSH =) )

The drowned soul comes from the Water-logged Ghoul, about lvl 15, hangs out in the north-west corner of the zone.

The tiger (single spawn) roams in a rough triangle between the grobb zone line and the greenmist zone line. He's real tiny after the rollback to the older graphic models - smaller than the tadpoles.

The giant leeches can be found in the far northern part of the zone - from about the stone hand north. (Edit I think they share the spawn table with the swamp contrictors and maybe the fungoids.

I found a tiger spawn today while I was briefly on my SK, skin and no skull.. but I'm happy now to just see the spawn.

Thank you for adding in the possible place holders, it gets annoying haveing to slay everything in an area to get a spawn to pop. At least when everything is green that you are killing.
