I've been playing SoD on and off for the past month and reading the forums almost every day so decided it was time to introduce myself. For anyone who played Live on Xegony I was best know as Sigurd the Barbarian warrior but also had a Necro named Drakun. My wife and I played Live for about 6 years until our daughter was born, almost two years ago now, and decided money and time were best spent elsewhere. About a year ago a co-worker gave me a guest pass for WoW and another one allowed me to log into her account from time to time to play, which then led to another co-worker who was quitting the game to give me his account (Shhh dont tell Blizzard hehe). But I was just never as satified with that game as I was with Live. Just goes to show you that you really cant judge a book by its cover. Very pretty graphics but not very much depth, no real penalties from death and absolutly no failures in trade skills. Very "unrealistic" if it is possible for a fantasy video game can be realistic. 
But then I was introduced to SoD by the same person who gave me their WoW account. They found this place because of all the stories I told about Live and how awesome and detailed the game is.
So far I am quite impressed with SoD, there are a few things I will have to get used to but aside from them it is a very fun game.
Now if I can just get my wife re-hooked all will be right in the world.
So if you see me around in the world feel free to drop me a tell. I mostly play my necro Drakun for now until my wife get more into it and we can continue with our shaman/warrior combo.
