:) Heya Sod community:

New Player to the SoD realm:

Played live for about 5 years from May99 until GoD on the Tunare Server. ( Main was a Paladin) Look forward to meeting some of you folks and grouping with you . From the boards, this looks like a good community, with a lot of old school people.

I recently Created an EQEmu Server 6.0.3 from my old files, as a local lan server for Myself and Nephews to play around on. I learned some about Pearl 5.8 in quest writing, Sequel Server and the Eqemu 6.0 Database. (So I know this server took a whole lot of time to set up, /salute)

Anyhoo.. I Have a technical question. (Problem)

I can't login.

Made a fresh install of <that game> first 8 expansions, patched up current to the <that game> live server. Followed the Instructions on your setup page. Deleted the <active Folder>/Maps
Downloaded the SoD maps, unpacked them to <active folder>/Maps..
Downloaded the auto-patcher unpacked and Installed the Sodpatcher.exe and SodBinary file.

Executed the SoDpatcher, and pointed it at the <Active> directory which is C:\<That game name> on my machine. It connected and patched properly. I created an account (SoD)and had the Username and Password emailed back to my Mailbox. That Username and password is what I am logged in with to post on this forum.

Everything works fine, until I try to log in and then it responds with a Invalid EQemu Username/Password. It fails in both Windowed mode, and non-windowed mode.

I have removed Active Perl 5.8., Mysequel and the Eqemu 6.0 from this machine. But still can't log in.

Here is what I think the problem may be. It looks like SoD may use the same data base as Eqemu for log in. If that is so, The user name and password I selected for SoD was the same as my 'Player' account (Not admin account) that allready exist in EqEmu and may have created a problem . Had I known I would have used a different Username/Password =(

I would just create a new account (Name and password that I don't use in EQemu) and see if that works but the SoD server want let me append a new login/Password to my E-mail.

Is my only option to create a new e-mail addx, and New username/password? or is perhaps something else wrong ?

Which should be correct.
All ports are open.
Firewall is down..

Tryed New Account

Ok generated a new User name and Password that were not in use on EQEmu.

This didn't fix the problem.


Well I am stumped now.. <Think I will sleep on it>

Fixed..

OK Simple fix...
was too tired last night to see it..


Make sure you generate a SoD and a Board account..

I pressed on the link that just created the Board account.

Welcome to SoD :) That feeling you described sounds like the first time I rooted myself hahaha :D Glad things are working for ya!
