Could Shadow Knight be added to this item? it's the only tank class left out of it and I don't think there's any lore related to the item.
Would appreciate any answer, thanks in advance.

alot of traekoth's loot are like that.. look at ancient preserving bauble, gloves of banishment, coiled dragon sinew, barbed shadowscale boots

they all are restricted to non-standard classes, it's just the way his loot was designed

i always wondered why they don't have an effect/clicky or something
maybe some damage reduction or aggression

Probely becauses there rather good legs for when you can get them.

No SK on them does seem odd, however many adepts (and tmaps) have very screwed up useable compared to the normal flow of gear. Thats just part of there quirks.

If you look at all of Traekoth's loot most of the gear has "classes missing" which was obviously intentional. If you somehow got the greaves changed to have SK then you would probably have about 5 more threads for adding classes to his various loot which would just be dumb.

to be honest... these legs are nice in the hp area but really are not something to wet ur pants over.. the ac is mediocre.. the other stats arent really something to smile about.. i would assume all plate classes would be included in on this one... just doesnt seem good enough to be so selective=/

Kind of agree with Khador, if you farm in a 55 zone with a group and sell the earnings you can easily buy yourself a pair of deepmetal platemail greaves, which has 2 better ac, 1 extra slot, and only very slightly less resists/hp.

Casters can get some leggings off of a level 12 adept that give them (after leveled) 6 more ac than these level 55 adept tank leggings, which doesn't seem quite right, so I think some consideration should probably be taken toward improving them a bit.

the problem then is with farming, not the quality of the Greaves

deepmetal can take a character into tier 3, should it be so easy to obtain?

looking more closely at the Greaves of the Ancient vs. Deepmetal Greaves, it is pretty awesome that GotA is superior to DM in almost every way (after being leveled, that is): hp, resists, stats. it only lacks some AC, and of course a second aug slot.

HP is incredibly necessary for a tank, and a single item with 80-85hp on it that drops from an on tier mob is a gift, especially when it can compete with DM for ac

I don't know, maybe other people have a much more difficult time making money, don't do splits in their group or something. But it seems to me, that the Deepmetal Greaves are a better piece of equipment which is obtained a fair bit more easily than locking, and hoping that every 3 days maybe you won't miss it when someone puts together a raid or that you're able to put one together yourself. I've seen some little dude that asks every single day if Traek's up, and doesn't seem to have been able to be on when people are raiding it. ... that seems like a lot of effort over just saving up some plats from grouping or farming?

I updated a previously existing thread, because usually it's considered poor forum etiquette to make 1000 topics on the same subject, instead of using search to find one that's there already :p

Regardless, both DM and GotA are stupid good legs for that level and I do not believe that an upgrade is needed, even if one of those pairs of pants happens to be maybe a little better than the other pair (hint GotA is better because it is a sweet black color compared to the magenta of DM)

As for Sumelan I mean I don't know what to tell him he refuses to check on Traek even when he is next to a MoP location it's like okay if you want to know whether or not Traek is up don't be lazy go check yourself.

LASTLY your first point in your post (basically that it is easy for you to farm money for DM) is what I alluded to before, that MAYBE there is a problem with farming

SHD can wear the Barbed Shadowscale Boots from Traek, other tank classes cannot. Their omission on the greaves is probably to balance this.

My sk has stalker chitin boots (21ac, 15sta, 10cha). I am undecided if the other stats are really worth the trade-off of ac for them. Though affliction 5 is nice, but I rarely dot as is. Maxxed out the boots are decent (nice str boost, lol), but how many, many millions of xp to max them out?

I guess I got spoiled by Oggok Plate, which the greaves leveled up to 23 ac with 10 agi and 25 hp, which I fought for in my 20s. So it just felt mildly disappointing that something I fight for in my 50's isn't quite a bit nicer. But, I can realize that both DM and GotA will be just fine for most of the content I'll be playing in. I mean, Oggok Plate carried me to 55 without any trouble.

As to farming, idk. I hear a lot of people complain about money, but I think it's just not paying attention to what drops where and whether or not you can sell them to players... and plain laziness of just waiting until you get enough AAs to get carried on a raid and start getting spoils from there maybe.

welp for those who know me, you know how i gear my characters and how much they depend on the excellent adept gear

for those who don't know me, i abhor buying gear

in the words of zaela, if you already have something better than this adept gear, then use that instead and move on

EDIT: also ranseur the traek boots beat the stalker boots hands down, raw hp > ac advantage and the STA which can be gained through buffage

Like I said.. I am undecided. If and when my sk catches a Traek raid, and they drop, will I worry about it. I have the stalkers, I don't have traek boots. Heck, I am xp-ing my icefeather belt just because I haven't found better (I'll update wiki with % tomorrow, just realized it leveled.)
They start at 11ac, that's a sizable drop. Along with the sta loss, they are probably about equal, with advantage to the stalker for the cha boost. (Ugly iksar need all the help they can get, you know.) And the str boost is meh, that's usually capped by buffs.

... *mumbles something about this thread being as old as Dark Rot*...

Locked. If you want to discuss this, make a new thread, include details and numbers, and make a clear argument in post #1.
