Good duo with a shaman?

So yeah, I just recently started. Am using a shaman and a warrior right now, and probably 70% of the time group with my friend who's a mage. Anyway, I'm only level 11 or 12 (cant remember) but my warrior is kinda useless. The shaman, the mage, and the mage's pet all outdamage him. And between the mage's pet and shaman, they can tank pretty well. So I figure since I'm still a low level, if I want to change classes... well now's the time to do it.

So what do you all think would be a good duo with a shaman, and good trio with shaman and mage? Needs a decent dps and probably at least a little ability to tank. Thanks in adavance!

I would say if you want a tank, but slightly more DPS, I would go with Shadowknight. They have some great utility for a tank, and they can actually tank quite well.

Monk or Paladin. Paladins now do decent dps and have the ability to heal themselves as well as buff themselves with the cleric line of spells. They are also fairly good tanks. Monks are good because they are decent tanks and do good dps and they can split up mobs to make fights easier. Both choices would be good.

Monk

I played a shaman/sk, shaman/warrior, shamana/monk ... and by far the shaman monk was the best combo.

The monk is better at pulling than the rest of the classes and as such, most times you'll just have one mob to deal with.

Also, with the monk you don't have to worry about gearing up both characters as much. The monk's fists are pretty good in lieu of "real" weapons.

It boils down to whatever you liek to play the best, but in my experience, the monk/shaman duo worked excellent for me.

i'm doing the shaman/sk duo, myself. It is alot of fun and i really enjoy it. If ever taunt is nto working to the best of its ability, I can always cast a couple SK spells. Both my chars are only level 12.. I'm very temptd to try the monk, and I really wish triboxing wasn't looked down as a penalty, because of it.

Another pretty cool duo is necro/shaman.
You can do a lot of stuff with them.

I started botting a shaman at 65 but I think even at lower levels you'll do pretty good with them.

Lots of good suggestions for a duo, but I just wanted to point out that at level 11 or 12 all mele are going to be pretty much equally useless. Even later in the game, mages and shamans (if they're focused on DPS and not healing) will still be able to out DPS equally equipped warriors, sks, paladins, and probably monks.

That said, the warrior won't begin to shine above the rest of the mentioned alternatives for tanking until the upper-end game. If you're not looking forward to that point, and are more interested in the journey there, one of the hybrids or monk would probably be better suited to you.

i have a shaman / ranger on their 65s..

Let me say they are awesome...
for kiting even better...

Ranger hold aggro while i slow and the dps is so good i only have to toss 2 or 3 heals, max...
And with canni 5 im always fm
