Good 3-character combination?

Warrior / Cleric

-Primary Taunt
-DPS (War)
-Heals
-HP/AC Buffing

Enchanter / Wizard

-Slows, Haste, Mez, Clarity Line, Misc. Buffs
-Pet DPS
-DPS (Wiz)
-Teleportation (Group, Self, Targetable Single)

Hands down on a 3 or 4 player team. I would say an enchanter is a good class to throw into the mix. Their assortment of spell types, mana regen, slows, haste, wis/int/str buffs and what not. Definatly a good class to keep close when you have a tank and primary healer. It just makes things easier as you go along. Id say warrior and cleric naturally for good aggro control and the best healing. Wizard isnt absolutely neccessary. But if you plan on taking 4 instead of 3, it would be worth the helpful dps.

Hmm... I guess I will put my 2 cp here. From past experience, Beastlord/Cleric can duo almost anything that is 1 groupable. Beastlord/Cleric/Necro(or Enchanter) would be a great trio. I'd go with necro if you want insane DD, along with the already insane DD of the BL... But the necro might pull agro so maybe thats not exactly the best. Enchanter on the other hand gets mind buffs and crowd control and slow, which help a lot more on the cleric's mana pool than DD. Either way, if you like Beastlord or Cleric, go with those and throw something else into the mix... A Shadow Knight might be nice to throw in there as well, but I'd go with the Enchanter as a personal preference.

On EQ live, my husband and I both dual boxed. I had my warrior/cleric combo, he had the enchanter/mage combo. Needless to say, we totally rocked!

Really, having some form of crowd control is a huge asset. For three characters, I'd recommend a tank/healer combo for the person dual boxing (those two are very easy to dual box, since most heals can be set up on hot keys), and an enchanter for the single boxer. Chanting is fairly complex because you are debuffing and nuking as well as doing crowd control. However, if your friend is up to 2 boxing, I really do recommend the chanter/mage combo. The mage is a very easy 2nd character to play. Essentially, you just need hot keys to assist the tank, have the pet attack, and nuke. It works great.

> my 2 bits.

g/f and I are playing on SoD, just recently started. she is still new at the game and her computer wont let her 2 box yet.
She likes clerics alot, and has a druid right now... beast + necro + druid seems ok for now. not sure how it will go on in upper levels.

My friend and I have been having a lot of success with mage/bst/dru
I'm going to try to start 2boxing mag/wiz though, now that I have SoD going on my laptop.

I think an interesting 3 group off the top of my head would be SK, Necro, Shaman. You lack a big DPS burst class, but I think you can get nice steady dps which is what really counts when you're in a solid, quick-paced group. You also get a FD puller which can be a great benefit in this small group. The necro brings mez, and the shaman's semi-lack of heals(before monster canni) are complemented by the SK's self heal ability. I really don't see much downtime in this group... I might try this now...

druid+melee+enchanter=heal,teleport,"tank", slows
shaman+melee+wizard=heal,teleport,"tank", slows
cleric+beastlord+wizard=heal,teleport,"tank", slows

If you include beastlords you need to emphasize the quotes a lot more on the tank i.e.:

"tank"

However with a cleric a beastlord can do rather well in the end game, not so much good at tanking in the beginning, teleports are a must!

I would say cleric/bst/druid - The regen / other heals /buffs from druid will help more than dps from wizard.

SK/Druid/Shaman.
plenty of heals. puller... dps... ports.. slows... buffs...
if i was to toss in a 4th id say either necro or wizard.

Mage, Mage, Mage Enchanter, Nuff said

I like it! Always was drawn to playing a "no healing" sort of game, except pet heals. Your only healing is bandaging (nice implementation in SOD), Runes and sitting. The Runes help you during combat, the others are non-combat recovery. Risky, but absolutely fun to play.

Did this on EQ live with another player who added a mage/mage/mage to my enc/mage/mage. Plus all the summoned food you could digest! :)

a mage/mage/mage to my enc/mage/mage.

Dear lord, imagine all the pets on screen at once if they all used the multi sumoney thingy! (who needs memory?!)

All of those mages had the AA's for the pet hordes. It was very cool to watch them all go in there while we drank pina coladas in sleazy bars in Freeport :).

Mage, Mage, Beastlord, Enchanter?

mage, beast, necro sounds fun actually, think i will talk to g/f about that.... other than FT later on not sure why beast would be good, other than slows .... which come later on as well..... mage would be nice dps ..... not sure which pet would take the woopin, maybe figure out which has most hp then send other pets in 5 sec later.... if all else fails just have ncro uber dot damg and kite while pets tear the mobs new holes from behind.... So > Necro = Very useful, Mage = nice pet, decent dps, low maintenance, Beast = .... pet is ok .... slows, small buffs, (SoW is nice).... I have a beast, and love playing him just dont think he contributes as much as either other class... guess ill input later after we've tried the combo. **sry for long post**

Warrior, Beastlord and Cleric, that way you have slows, heals, buffs and tankage not to mention a bit better dps than having an ench or shaman, plus the pet can be handy for an OT incase of add's :)
