GF playing rogue...

Hey, I'm trying to figure out a good duo partner for my gf who i just got to start up, and the only two things that are really coming up in any threads i can find anywhere for SoD or Game are shaman or necro... and I can't think of anything else.  I don't really want to HAVE to fear kite all the time, and I don't think it will be too easy for me to travel as a shaman to play with her, since she is pretty set on wood elf... I guess I could dual box, I was hoping I wouldn't have to, but if I do, what do you guys think, warrior/cleric? so id have tank, healing, and dps, and warrior and cleric would probably be pretty straightforward, so I wouldnt have to go crazy splitting my attention?  If anyone has any thoughts I'd love to hear them, thanks!

oh, and any advice on what stats i should put in on whatever class you suggest would be helpful too, since im still trying to figure out the whole huge shift of charisma going from near worthless to everyone but enchanters towards all important

another edit... im not looking for best duo/trio/etc, i just want something that is workable with a rogue, as i havent been playing SoD too long, and am not sure quite how the lower mid-mid-higher mid- high levels act with regard to finding groups/how customness of classes works, thanks once again!

If you guys are dead set on playing together (and never with anyone else), you might not have great options. Rogue/cleric is a decent idea: you'd be able to be functional as a duo if needed, and you'd never have trouble finding groups.

Mage might work if she lets the pet build up plenty of agro. Same with any pet class, but she'd probably be annoyed at sitting around waiting for that to happen.

If you don't mind 2boxing (it's really not that bad and your exp together would be the same with 3 as it is with 2), pretty much any tank/healer combo will work well.

I was considering cleric, but I wasn't sure if that duo worked at all... but if it does, I'll probably do that, and maybe make a tank too, because sometimes I might not be able to have all 3 computers going for various reasons... okay, thank you very much, I was also wondering if you could give me a quick tip as to what I should be putting stats in (Im usually not a min/maxer, but i do hate finding out i gimped myself after a lot of work)

anyone who can help, please respond, i kind of want to start as soon as possible, i believe im going to make a high elf cleric, and perhaps a barbarian warrior, and try to run him down to newport, or meet up at some level anyways... do clerics need lots of charisma or should i go with wisdom? and for warriors, is stamina still all important? thank you all!

So if I made a high elf... I should go all out into wisdom you think? and then the other 5 in cha?

More like all out in Cha, and the remaining 5 in Wis....

When you push the envelope, and essentially lose due to a string of consecutive resists, you will know exactly why Cha is key.

Remade into wisdom, i got a response from the people in the beginners guild which made sense to me, that as a cleric i shouldnt be going too much into offensive spells anyways... i think im just going to roll with it, i mean, at least my cha is still going to be decent as a high elf.

you might also try to play a beastlord. they have a very nice pet, good buffs and healing  not as good as cleric or shamon. they fight very well and if thing get real bad they can sacifice the pet and run like mad. wish you the best of luck. hason the warrior

beastlord rogue duo you mean? would they be able to keep aggro well enough? I was also thinking maybe one of the hybrids would work, paladin or shadowknight... its so tough to figure out a decent partner class for a rogue...

if your boxxing a bst / clr then your gf a rog that means you got heals , buffs , slows , a offtank ( bst pet) and some nice dps .

You both should try 2 boxing and getting good at it. Cleric+Warrior & Rogue+Shaman would let you kill pretty effectively and wouldnt be that hard to handle.

Rouge, sham is what i play. Its pretty nice. I use the pet to evade off of. Just gotta have mob slowed or keep pet up. You might be able to get away with rog beaslord too..

Heres the situation update, if anyone would care to comment... I'm playing a cleric, and she is set on the rogue, but now I've realized that I can two client pretty easily rather than 2 boxing like i was doing before (i couldnt do that all the time, didnt always have both comps available). So I have cleric + rogue + one open space.... I am starting a bit to level up a beastlord to join as the third member, but does anyone have any suggestions as to what that other third party member would be better off as? (Note: she will not be 2 clienting/boxing period, so im limited to 3 here) I was thinking maybe another one of the hybrids might be better than beastlord, shadowknight perhaps? or maybe even monk might be able to tank well enough and hit hard enough to take the mob down before it could do any serious punishment, thanks in advance for any advice.

You can only have 2 active characters logged in per RL person.

So I would suggest poking around with different classes up to lv 15 or so, it should give you a good sense of what you like or not.

SK sounds good, awesome aggro and you get FD at level 30, which will ease the need for root CC with your cleric.

I think that's what he means, Sanyia. His GF plays one, he plays two.

Druid, maybe? You get ports, SoW, backup healing, lots of versatility. Just have your Cleric stand and heal every once in a while. (Not that I could handle this, but, hey, you might be able to.)
