NOT DONATING *EVER*
Alright, so our population numbers are pretty much nicely back to where they were in June. As awesome as this is, it brings us the same problems that we had back then... our single host box is not sufficent to support the population, the processor gets overloaded which causes the server to lag. So, we need a second box, which would allow us to dedicate the first box pretty entirely to the SQL server - resulting in much much much smoother performance.
We're currently a bit short of being able to afford a second box, so we go out again to ask all the wonderful players of Dalaya to think of their favorite emulated server this Yuletide. :hug:
To preface a few questions - yes, PayPal is the only way to donate right now. I am looking into alternatives. We use rented boxes, so we do not have any use for donated hardware, though we appreciate the offer. We are also unlikely to be interested in "I will host you for free at my workplace..." offers, as those deals very rarely work out. We appreciate the thought, but renting boxes is really what works best and cheapest for us.
Assuming we can rack in a few more subs I plan on ordering the second box this weekend.
