I am trying to collect Petrified Chunk of Driftwood for the above quest.

I have spent many hours running into trees without receiving an emote, or a wasp, or the driftwood. I have been back to Gertund but he will not talk to me.

I guess therefore that I have managed to bug the quest and would like someone to take a look at for me please.

You might not be running into the right trees. In dreadlands, in that bubbleon the north wall west of the BQ zone line.
