Yes I have checked every thread on search and have tried every solution given, and none of it had worked and I am thoroughly vexed.
Installed EQ, let patcher run and download everything.
After it was done, checked advanced tab to see if everything up to LDON was checked.
After I did so it downloaded a bit more then said it was ready.
Deleted the map files from EQ folder and replaced them with the latest (6/10) mapset.
downloaded .net framework
Downloaded patch and extracted it into new shards folder, ran patcher for first time and directed it to Everquest folder
Lo and behold, Hash Table...told patcher to repatch all and deleted Files.txt
Hey it's working! Yes....aw crap it's stuck on general commands.htm
Used direct patcher and extracted it into everquest folder...took quite a long time and when it got to General Commands, said it was read only and required a password to replace....what?? Has anyone encountered that? Skipped that file, replaced everything else, but since Generalcommands was the bothersome portion, I never got passed that on the patcher.
The only thing left is perhaps norton, but firewalls werent up. Could someone give me a step by step way to shut off all norton blocking implements? I'm hoping that's it....nay, praying.
