Gemstone of the High Seeker - Monk

I don't see the insta-FD as much of a boon if as I said you have plenty of space and no casting mobs. Insta-FD will help pulls go a little bit faster, but just one death of the monk due to FD failing stops the raid for like 5 minutes. Whereas a smart SK with enough room won't die.

What you're basically saying is "In the perfect situation for a shadowknight, a shadowknight will be better." :tinfoil:

It's not like if a monk fails an FD they insta gib. They stand back up and run more, or they hit mend, or they hit ethereal, and then they just flop again. Yes, sometimes you will die. Most of the time you will not.

A monk in the endgame is a high skill oriented class. You can do things with insta FD that would be infinatly harder with a cast time. Most monks with any skill know this. I can however, see how someone who dosn't play the class would get the impression that necro and shadowknight feign deaths are superior. When you get down to technical pulls though, a shadowknight cannot compare. I assume your example is the basic EZ-PZ 2 mobs at a camp all alone, agro both, wait for one to reset and stand, split. Pulling goes way beyond this.

Insta-FD is such an advantage in almost all situations that I wouldnt be suprised if Wiz does feel it to be perfectly balanced in its current form.

Honestly, you're entitled to your own opinion, and im not going to draw out the discussion anymore here. I disagree with you, and I'll leave it at that.

Would I be happy with a feign death mod on my gemstone? Yes.
Will that mod gurantee zero failure when using my FD in the furture? No.

A defensive mod such as Block or Dodge would be the ideal mod for the monk gemstone IMO, though I wouldnt be crushed if it just remained flying kick.

Eldo isn't speaking with a lack experience, he plays a very good monk. Just thought I'd throw that out there, even though I agree that monk FD is superior, having played Jose and pulled several times in xp groups or whatever.

Not that I can contribute too much to the discussion but I'd definitely support changing to a defensive mod. Of course, I'm not anywhere close to getting out of tier 1/2 encounters yet...still, failing at FD, while extremely frustrating, is going to happen and an extra mod to a defensive skill like dodge or block will give us the extra couple milliseconds to mash the hotkey :)
