I was just wondering why a recast timer was placed on the clicky spell on these. I personally find it quite uncalled for.

The spell (Terror of Shadows, level 44) is 400 hate with a 2.5 second cast time (1 second for the actual spell) and has been given a 20second or so recast timer.

I realize that with the SK AA Assault of Shadows change, it makes them better than the AA, which is pretty dumb, but the AA shouldn't have been nerfed in the first places. Knight classes shouldn't depend on spamming a spell for agro. Warriors have agro procs from NJ and Ytraz (the agro from both being, in a way, nerfed with the lower accuracy changes), so they don't (or didn't) need to really use their cmal gloves (even though the agro from them is quite hot).

I would really like to see the cast timer taken off the gloves and the AA changed back or made better, because it really does suck. 225 hate with 1.5 second cast on the AA vs 510 hate/1.5 cast on the level 59 agro spell Terror of Marlow.

Its sad that I would be better off chaining a level 44 spell then an AA spell. And now, It would be better to never even use my gloves, just go back to chaining the level 49 agro spell, even with its recast.
 
SKs, nor warriors, nor anyone else will not gain a free aggro clicky that can keep aggro over anything else in the game.
 
As for the SK aa, it's pretty lame that a class could keep aggro by pressing '3' over and over again.
 
on librarian since he is immune to magic , I keppt agro from the original amount of time tanking him before thre touch of the ancients. Nobu ate the first one. You were referring to abom.

I do not see any difference besides the mana cost between casting one spell, over clicking an item, with both limiting melee damage (depending on the weapon). If the goal was to make SHD rely on mana for agro, then could the AA and glove effects be considered for changes? (I do not play a shadowknight as a disclaimer ;) )
 
Wow so, the gloves really don't give you super agro. They don't ensure that you will never lose agro. They were seriously fine as they were. But a 20 second cast timer is just reduntant. Like, really. A 2.5 second cast with a 5 second recast would be fine.

And Anadin, wow, just, don't. You really don't even know what you are talking about. No one item/spell/aa guarntees full agro all the time. As I showed before, the AA wasn't on par with SK agro spells from 20 levels lower. The only upside to it was the lack of a recast. And now its the suck.

an SK who can keep aggro by pressing a button every second = lame. I saw it in action, I heard it described first hand.

But since I obviously don't know what I'm talking about, I'll wow, just, not.
 
You really are an idiot. Even Gronuth can't keep agro with JUST the AA.
Even Alazif/Coltaine/Rarok couldn't keep agro with just cmal gloves.
Taunt is greater than the gloves and AA combined. And thats what I said. You can't do it. You need something else, thats why a recast is pretty lame.
But, you feel the need to post about anything and everything when you, obviously DON'T know what you are talking about. Nice try though.

Not only are you offensive, you dont know wtf you are talking about either, and you are standing on a shaky soapbox mythryn. Gronuth has and can hold agro with a 1 sec cast no recast aa clicky. I have also held agro with the cmal gloves alone. Taunt puts u on top of a hate list and if you are already on top you only gain 1 hate. Previous to this change to sk aa, Gronuth and I could time our taunts while he and I gained alot of agro very fast to push our combined hates to extreme levels. This was not done before but it was an option with the situation of the aa hate clicky. Next time you come to bash my guildies and use myself and gron in your example, take your head out of your ass in put it in a woodchipper.

And..bashing your guildies eh? I didn't mean it towards Ruin at all, it was directed at someone who doesn't know wtf they are talking about, and has no real reason to be in the thread, just like you don't.

Some day I will have to see this unique little trick, but wait, agro building and taunt timing isn't a new thing.

But wtf ever duders, this turned into a lame thread that won't get anything done. And I am pretty sure I can use whomever I want in any example bud. Didn't mean to offend you, but I just remember you having serious problems with agro, and with some tests I did, I know you can't keep agro with just the clicky.
But that wasn't the point of this thread. It was to have the gloves changed back, or to something less dramatic (5 or 6 seconds). This includes the warrior cmal3 gloves. But no. Lets go on tangents and stupid shit. Woo hoo.
 
I didnt want to respond to this, but I feel for the sake of clear facts, and hopefully to prevent more fights and arguements.

Gronuth could not hold agro with me (rogue), using just the AA clicky. (I assume this would be true for wizards as well.) In grouping with him on a few occasions he could hold agro with the AA (Assault of Shadows) if:
1) He had a headstart on the mob, or 2) I evaded successfuly.
Agro control is just as much on my end, as it is on the tanks. The shadowknight AA could not hold stable agro alone. If anyone disagrees with this, please ask Gronuth about it.
 
As much as I hate talking with a fool I should let you know a few things...I have tanked abom, a mob that auto ripostes, by just using my cmal gloves. Gronuth also has done this and ...he regularly tanks librarian, a mob that 1000% slows you. Not only does he do this, he did it the first time by, drumroll please....chaining his fucking hate AA. I know this is a long ways from ww dragons so please try and fathom that idea.This is why these things were changed. Not only did wiz know about this and not like the idea , he asked gronuth to try and throw in a few spears and agro spells instead of just chaining his aa. Also ponden, thanks for civility, but yes there are a number of situations outside the normal raid model where you can steal agro, but they are not relevent if you can tank mobs with just these clickies alone in a normal raid situation.As for me not being a SK, I was the first person on WR to get the cmal3sk gloves, for gronuth. I also have played gronuth, I know about SKs. I have played a 65 SK on wr with 500aa's on dev server.

Bullshit. I watched him keep aggro against librarian with just the AA.
 
heh.

I don't feel the fact that I have not played an SK indicitave of my brain power, or ability to argue this point. Gronuth told me that he could, and I watched him, keep aggro on mobs simply by chaining his assault of shadows. That's not balanced.
 
You know.. all this talk about me and i never said a thing?? bout time i noticed everyone throwing my name around, but thanks for making me a household curse!! :) :lol:

1. The AA was indeed TOO STRONG.

2. If the SK has HALF A BRAIN, you dont need just the clicky to hold agro.

3. Most the time i lost agro during groups, was because i was chit chatting, and didn't spam the button 100%, nor did i not previously use voice of kaezul outside of raids too often.

4. 2 minutes is an insanely long time unless this thing causes something like 3k damage equivelent or such, maybe tone it down a little boss. It wont change my game plan too much but it would make it worth having again.

5. Please do not talk about what i can and can not do unless you've actually been me. which doesn't really happen.
