game setup/instalation prolems

at first i had everything messed up on my own, but then i learned you need to properly install the wr hotfix. so i downloaded the hotfix to my desktop then unziped it into my everquest folder c:/programfiles/everquest

but i followed the instructions step by step and its not working.
everytime i run the eqlive patcher it downloads the same files. everytime i try to log on my wr charector it goes through the loading screen and THEN it goes black and the music keeps playing

any help is greatly apriciated
