Game item Question

Im fairly new to SoD, few months or so. Just have questions about items in the game. For example, Robe of the Dark, 9AC 10 INT, and haste 28%. Maybe its different on here than in live, but I dont think Caster Melee is going to make or break a raid, or high lvl mobs. Not trying to be rude, and it if comes off that way im sorry, but what is the point of haste on a caster only robe? I asked this in OOC in game, and got the answer twink caster Item... That doesnt make much sense, i thought twinking was kinda looked down upon, also, isnt that one of the reasons for weapon lvl reqs? I could see this Item being good for twinking, but do any high lvl caster wear it, for the haste? Maybe if the haste Transfered to pets, that might be interesting, and stacked with The pet buff haste, this item would be wicked for nec/mage. Just thought Id ask, this kind of confused me.

It's to add flavour and variation to the item, not every stat on an item has to be incredibly important/useful.
 
I was under the impression that haste descreased the cool down time for spells on casters...*shrug* That'd be nice if not though.
 
Taking the haste off does or doesnt matter, I was asking what purpose it served, IF any, to casters, maybe re-read what I posted Rab. Was simply asking is there a logical explination for haste on a casters only item? or is just spicing things up on items the reason?
 
I look at haste on a caster robe like a fun toy. I know caster's don't melee but at least you'll know if it came down to it.... you're at least hasted. Kinda fun to have a haste robe at lvl 1 though......but I don't think there are any droppable haste(20%+) robes are there?
 
Not commonly used != not used at all. Some caster items have high ac, or good damage ratios, or good melee stats, or good hp, because not everyone has to play the same. Off the top of my head, that robe could be very useful for the enterprising caster who spends AAs in melee mastery and uses the hobo knife (that is, the 2/20 dagger that procs 'ritual sacrifice', a type of cannibalize). It's be a bit risky of an experiment, but it's entirely possible that with a little work that knife could become an appreciable mana regeneration engine.

Robes of the Dark, the robe mentioned in the original post, is 28% haste and droppable...
 
Rab read the post fine. If you're in such wonderment about an item's haste, and seem to be complaining that it is useless, then perhaps it should be taken off so you won't be so lost, confused, and bitter.

That's because weapons only proc on hits. I find that, even without max pierce or any combat AAs or worn haste, it procs faster than I can mash my canni worm when I'm swinging at the backside of a greenie.
