Funny little quirk

With the help of you guys, I can now log on to Shards and enjoy EQ like I did before Sony dorked it up. But now I have a little quirky problem that could use some adjusting.


I have hundreds of EQ files now on my desktop. I can send them to a folder, but they just reappear everytime I play the game. Basically, I'm wondering why that is happening and if I can keep it form happening.

Actually, I don't even have to play to get them to come off. After I put them all in the recycle bin and empty it, they come back if I wait a little bit or start another program.

The weird thing is, each icon represents multiple copies of the same file. Not like 1 or 2, but up to 60 copies of the file. I haven't duplicated the file 60 times so i don't know where all these files are coming from. But it's getting to be a headache spending 20 minutes clearing off the desktop of icons.

That's pretty freaky. You might want to check your settings for both the standard and the SoD patcher to see if it might be downloading the files to your desktop. I know my roommate ran the eqlive patcher initially on his desktop, and it started downloading the files straight to there.

Just a thought, beyond that I don't have much to suggest.
