The effect: Frog Companion. I'm guessing it summons a froglok pet. What level is the pet? What is the value of Froggy's jar?

Also, are there an other items like Froggy's jar or Tongue of Fire that summons pets that are droppable?

I'm not really sure the level of the frog pet. Just FYI it's more a familiar than a pet. IE: It won't be used for combat, only for it's beneficial bard song which is a charisma buff.

Other pet summoning items that come to mind are Halfings in a box, Puppy Cage, and Bracer of Everburning Flame (Procs Elemental Ally - swarm pet). IIRC there is a bow that procs the swarm pet as well (the names of which escape me atm). Although, the bracer and bow are not droppable.

Actually it buffs charisma, stamina and CR.

Box of Angry Halflings (if that's what you meant by Halflings in a box) isn't droppable either. I hadn't heard of Puppy Cage... I'd like to get one of those. =P
 
Canopic jar is fun. Can get it with fame points and it makes a little skeleton pet for you.
 
Level of frog is dependent on your level. It always cons blue


canopic jar is also a game drop

Correct. But you could lend it to a group member, tell them to summon the pet and then hand back the Jar. After all the pet only sings a bard song(which doesn't stay in constant loop and has a down-time.)

That's the thing I don't like about it =/ It's not a constant effect. Would be nice if it lasted long enough/refreshed fast enough to stay on you as long as you weren't running out of range.

That is the clear drawback. If it were constant it would be way overpowered being +cr,cha,sta for the entire group permanently in a buff slot hardly ever full
 
Theres also the Shaman Thug quest BP, Summons there level 49pt pet for 1 minute. This one however works even if your shaman has there pet out already. (getting many a odd look from groups that dont know about it as they see 2 wolf pets from nabal).

best thing i've seen though is myself and another necro grouping in Highkeep on the third floor

both of us popped wake the dead (summons like 5 swarm skeletons at your target for 30 secs or target death) at the same time when tank pulled three mobs

he nearly crapped his pants

reminds me of my old guilds necro using those during second watcher battle. half the guild cried out in panic...good times...good times

What BP is this ??? ... searching SoDWiki turned up nothing ... I'm presuming " the Shaman Thug quest ..." is actually a Thurg quest because all I found under 'thug' was a sash for Rogues. The article for Thurgadin is remarkably incomplete.

That reminds me of what was sometimes known as the million pet march/pet pet revolution depending on how drunk I was on old empire raids.

Garn + Aisling + Siknn + Strylok + Shazu + Paxx + Xavu + some a halfling box or 3 = Holy Christ thats alot of pets. Not to mention just the regular pets and sending in the cleric hammers around then if people remembered. All at the same time with a melee curse thrown in to boot (yes I'm aware they don't affect the pets). Good times.

Oh and paxx using wake the dead on 2nd watcher almost gave all of us a heart attack. It was pretty win.
