Freezing in Vista

Well, I just got to my aunts house and the XP computer is unavailable.

So I set up SoD on the new Vista computer. Well, it starts up normal, and I can get all the way to the game (With my chosen character) and I can chat a little before it freezes. I notice that turning or moving around will freeze it as well as being idle for a couple of seconds... I see no discussion on a freezing problem anywhere, just two-boxing and ventrilo...any help out there?

EDIT: I also wonder if running it in Windows XP compatability mode would work?

I don't have any experience with Vista yet, but I might be able to offer a little help, if it's not just a compatibility issue. First, what freezes? The SoD window or the whole computer? Can you ctrl + alt delete and close the SoD window?

My first suggestion would be to update the video and sound card drivers for the computer.

If the whole computer freezes, it could also be overheating. Is it an older computer with Vista loaded? If it's new, obviously this shouldn't be a problem. Are you able to play other games on it?

Just a couple of angles, need to get a little more info out of you =P

Brand New Computer

I can close the SoD Window, which is the only thing that freezes, unless I try to open up task manager, which freezes the system (Only after running SoD, not normally)

I run Vista, and have the same issue. Only thing I can relate it to is a mem leak. I run 2gigs on my lap top, and when it hits 1.9gig of mem, it will lock up. Usually I get about 4-5hrs of play before this happens, but sure enough, when it locks, I check the performance, and its a full usage.

Other then the mem-leak, it runs flawless on Vista!
