Forum Autologon

I learned this from someone else posting it in a thread, so for the benefit of all the new faces popping up on the forum, and for the benefit of the veterans reading their pleas for help ("alrite now which one is this Guest??? ") i'll retype it out.

(disclaimer: this is how i do it.)

Assuming you have the WR site in your favorites (if you don't, uh, like, what's wrong with you? :roll: ), make a second "favorite" and call it WR Forum or whatever. Have it link directly to the Winter's Roar Forum Index page. Now when you log in, choose to have it auto-login everytime. SO, next time you want to check the forum, click your favorite (i have my imporant ones across the top of my browser window as buttons) for WR forums. You should still be logged in, so you won't look like a newb when you post, and we won't get confused trying to figure out who Guest is, and in the process forget about your problem completely. Everybody wins.

It's not perfect, as sometimes it still drops my login, but normally only if i do some switching back and forth between the Forum and the WR page... or delete da cookies. Works for me, should work for you too. Enjoy.

huh? oh sorry i mistook you for new guys because this post was to help them out. my bad.

On a happier note, thank you Rabe for providing further instructions on how to relog in manually everytime you come here, although a seperate help thread probably would have been appropriate, because this one was about how to get around exactly what you explained.

And Clue, thank you clue for reiterating that this "new and improved way" is "neither new nor improved", and that it does in fact save seconds. I'd hate to be misunderstood and have people thinking i'm taking credit for devising this system.

In addition to saving precious seconds, I'd also like to point out it saves you from repetively hitting the same keys on your keyboard everytime you log in, so over the course of about 105 years it will save you $10 on a new keyboard. Wait i bet you can find one for $5! That's awesome! More help!
