I'm curious as to why the refresh time on the clicky Force Shock is 3 minutes for the Starfalls quested Force Wand. Perhaps no more than 2x the spell's 12 sec recast.

I can understand it having a prolong recast to avoid free stun nuking however it doesn't seem much different in terms of dps/ mana if a wizard was to chain cast their best 5 mana nuke in those levels. I'd like to hear if any others would favor a longer clicky cast if a shorter refresh time is granted.
I like the idea of long cast time no recast.
The enchanter peice has a very low level mana drain. This has it's uses...sorta. Well, I said I wouldn't complain about the effect...even though theft of thought would be an awsome replacement...OK, back on topic:
Long recast balances out with the cast time and gives increased danger from the need to stand still and cast. Plus it lets you feel as if you are doing something.

Jusy completed this quest with my 36 Wizzie.. The main reason I got it was for the 60 mana and Damge Inc III ... Went and blasted a few FG's in GD to see how it fit in with the rest of my gear... For a wiz my level I have to say it is bloody excellent!
The clicky spell I see as purely a need for fast damage in tight spots.. I used it twice.. once to stop a giant from pathing out of the zone and the second time to save my but after a long fight with 3 preators (I finished on 4% mana, 12% hp when the last praetor died to the force shock clicky on the wand)

True, I don't really have great use for it. Yes there'd be a possiblity of an alternating of nuke and clicky but a recast of 1 min or w/e is reasonable. I may not parsed it myself but it'd seem the same if one did just use either the clicky or 5 mana nukes. Anyways, I'm done. :roll:
