Well, seeings as this is a forum for ideas, with WR, the server seems to be so roleplay centric, there needs to be a way to capitalize on this. I mean its silly to have lightys hate evils and vice versa , if there is no way to back it up.
First suggestion, is to make a PVP zone, the arena has been done to death, and gets pretty boring. And since roleplay is such a big factor, I think that the pvp should reflect that.
Im thinking , taking a city type zone, with tons of locations to move around, get lost, hide in ect. make it completely pvp from the moment a player enters it. And beyond that there should be a reason WHY people fight, other than just to kill each other. I dont know how feasible this would be , but given EMUs abilitys, it might be doable.
Just as a hypothetical example. lets say tofs as pvp city. populate the zone with only specter type npcs. and set up a basic game of king of the mountain. each floor could be designated to higher level teirs. each floor has various merchants, who sell appropriate level, speciallized gear. bankers on each floor, and make all these npcs have a fixed faction, which is controled by , (similar to guild wars) a floor captain. if a player walks into a floor, that is controlled by an opposing faction(good, evil,) then that player is KoS, until such a time as the their faction group, takes over that floor. have specified quest givers, who give out all/all gear quests, but you can only get info, or do turn ins, if your faction presently has taken over that floor.
Allow players to also assist in protecting their faction control, by when npcs start attacking, assisting them.
If you need a lore type reason to justify, make this city , the city of the dead, each groups dead yearn to walk freely, but cannot do so , till mortals, retake the floor, allowing them to rise again.
once again, this is food for thought. but even varations on this theme would be good, but seriously , there needs to be a way for us to ralley the forces of good against the forces of evil, and vice versa. hell, at this point, id be happy with just a zone wide pvp zone, even if it was a small one, like nexus.
This server is only going to be as good as 2 things, its stability, and its unique content. which that was my understanding thats what this server was trying to so, was throw the old EQ book out the window. but as it is, its still too familiar and set like EQ right now. Maybe, if there was people willing to act as content writers, who submit content, to wiz and staff for approval, and best things get enacted onto the server. /shrug i just want to see this server be the best that EMU has to offer, which with how its set up, and the work the staff is wanting to put into this, it can easily do.
maybe a "submit content" forum/thread might help with this. but once again, these are ideas. Im a firm beliver, that its one thing to complain how things arent right, but its a more effective thing, to offer ideas how it can be made better. Id just like to help in this process.
