Focused Blight Question

I got this from Wormwood the other day. Really creepy encounter by the way.

Problem is I can't figure out what, if anything, this focus effect does. I'd imagine by the name that it should affect my disease spells in some way, but after testing all my elements ( and necros pretty much have the gambit ), it doesn't seem to change anything. Am I blind, testing the wrong spells, or perhaps it is not quite working? Any help would be appreciated.
 
It should be a disease damage focus, have you been testing both DoTs and DDs? Do necros even have disease DDs?

It's possible that the focus on it is the same as what you gain from another item,and they do not stack, doesn't the necro starfall ring have such a focus on it?
 
Ok you found it. It doesn't effect disease spells, but it does effect my poison spells. It also doesn't stack with the poison focus of my ring



As shown above.

My question is now, is it supposed to be a poison focus? If so I assume it isn't supposed to stack with the thurg ring.
 
Blight should be disease and not poison since,

I don't know if it's an error with the item or the focus though, maybe an item designer/dev can shed some light
 
Apparently all of the disease focuses (including endemic affliction and so on) were helping poison instead (and the 4% poison focus was helping disease, too). They'll be fixed next patch.

I didnt think "Endemic Affliction" sounded very poisonish but after looking through all of the other shaman with only that focus I assumed it was correct. I have just gone through and looked at all the top tier priests and necros (and beastlords) and checked available gear for the correct focus. I see the nerco Thaz sleeves have the above mentioned poison focus Sivyana's Malice. I however have seen no gear that has this focus for shaman. Being that our 2 best dots are poison based I assume we should have an item (or 2) with this effect.

Is this effect on any shaman useable items at this time? If it is, it must either be undiscovered or it is on something with significantly inferior stats such that folks like Xavu, Podge and Lytec have passed on it or just bagged it. If it is not on any shaman useable items perhaps it could be added to something of an appropriate level (Thaz/mid ToT) so we can benefit from enhanced dotty goodness. Thanks :)
 
Malleus remember when I asked you if Endemic Affliction was really effecting poison and not disease? :dumb:

Do beastlords even get disease dots?
