Hi, first sorry about my english, really suck.
Im training fletching and always i need 50 combines to skill up 1 point. There are any mode to skill up faster?.
Now im 124 and im combined trivial 126 arrows, maybe if i will try more dificults combines help?
Thanks alot.

Really sorry about my english. (hehe..)
See you in game!!

The number of combines it takes to get a skillup is fixed. It doesn't matter if you're trying the easiest arrows that are non-trivial, or the hardest you can possibly make at your skill (arrows that are too hard will give you a message as such, and will not provide any advancement). The large number of combines is due the the fact that all the components are store-bought, so the combines are what provide the "challenge" to improving your skill. Other trade skills, such as tailoring, require much fewer combines per skillup, but you have to collect the components from mobs and other players, providing the challenge.

The best way to skillup is to do the cheapest combines which are not trivial, and ice down your wrists at night. :(

Do things such as the ash bows which require to forage the shaft make for quicker skill ups? Or like you said is it literally fixed for all and not just items that can be store bought?

I can't say for fletching, and I don't have the statistical data to back this up, but in Jewelcraft (where I'm currently somewhere in the 21X range), it did not seem that changing to the drop-only gems required any fewer combines per skillup than the store bought gems. I get the impression that the same is true for Alchemy from the posts here I've seen about the recipies which require mystic ash.

alchemy is the only tradeskill that has a set number of combines till the next skill up so it is not fair to discuss this in regards to other tradeskills
mystic ash does blow tho

No, brewing, and fletching both have a set # of non trivial combines before you skillup, 240-250 brewing is 30 combines per skillup. Those are the 2 that I know for sure

I believe all the tradeskills have a set number of combines. Jewelcraft did (up to the point I stopped keeping track); brewing did all the way through to 250; and iirc, pottery did as well.

okay, then i will make the less expensive combines non trivials. but if always are 50 combines to skillup i think this tradeskill is very expensive because at higher level 1 combine are like 5, 6, 7 ,8 pps and i will need 50 for 1 point..

It's true, if you could raise your tradeskill cheaply then everyone would do it and prices would fluctuate wildly. Demand for components would skyrocket, and prices for finished items would plummet. Eventually people would give up trying to turn a profit on it and the market would even out, then everyone else would start in on it again.

Having a tradeskill take a large amount of time and money to get higher is to ensure the market for said items can stay in check.
