i got this bp a week or 2 ago and i was seeing a nice dd proc from it while i farmed/tanked, but the dd proc has not been working for me for the last few days as i farm... i know the server has been buggy over the last few days with cleric heals, day and night time switching back and forth (not sure if this is related to the proc not working) can the proc on this bp be checked to see if it has been broken plz?

ill be happy to help w/e you need me..

char name: Voltin

thx

im not sure if any of these mobs spells are AE or single target spells, i have been farming the dragons and rats in dn, treants in wpl, fire grotto mobs and red sun mine mobs. im getting tons of melee hits on me and they should be causing the bp to proc. (the ones that hit my chest anyways)

From SoDWiki and what cuases procs - "Chest - When you get hit with normal melee damage. Currently also works for AoEs."
is this correct, that melee hits cause the bp to proc?

im seeing my "bard" proc, my weapons proc and my ds msgs.. no bp proc no matter what type of mobs or how many mobs i at fight

do all bp procs work off of spells only? if not, can thie flawless bp be changed to work with melee damage as well?

There are more chests like this around now. If you notice your chest proc off of a detrimental spell more than once in a day, it's probably one of these, as they have a much higher chance to proc per-hit than ones that proc from melee hits.

good to know.. thx for the answers z

Yeah I know, a chest proc that isn't completely worthless for anyone who isn't currently tanking? Horrible, right?

I think in most situations people not tanking would rather not have offensive procs on their BPs anyways. Or, defensive ones would be vastly preferable I should say, since if you're a squishy and getting beat on or cast on, you probably have aggro, which you usually don't want. And a DD proc just makes it that much harder to drop aggro.

Not saying there aren't situations where it's nice, but a DD proc on a chestplate is definitely something more suited for tanking than not.

You realize you're complaining about a supposedly significant increase to your dps that you would not get anywhere or anyway else right? Considering every fight past a certain point basically revolves around aoe and aoe spam this bp could be amazing. Saying this is "Suited for tanking" is flat out dumb.

Can this proc on resists? I seem to remember someone asking me this the other day but I cant recall and am lazy and don't want to load my rogue to spam spells on himself to find out.

I originally thought it procced from melee combat, and in my situation, I would rather have that. Was hoping it was a cold version of the Raiments of Devouring Flame.

Of course it's still useful, it's just not as good (for me) as I thought it was.

Outside of minor exp group stuff it's still better for you??

I tank almost all the time I'm not raiding since our tanks aren't very active and we only have 2.

I don't know about this for bard etc but it's annoying chest items might just not proc on melee - is it possible to differentiate them ? or make a list of what procs what on the tome of knowledge ?

Is it really that annoying?

What place could this really be annoying outside situations where mobs that are being split have very long range spells that like to own druid bear pets who don't have pet hold. Maybe there is some amazing built in safeguard to prevent this from owning you?

I think he's just dumb. I wants it.

I can see it being annoying against Generals... no ?

The 1st mob anyways.

Then again wearng cold Resist against generals is not exactly w00tz0r.

If it works how I think it does any bp that goes off on spells is doubly terrible for mages actually.

For those who have no idea why.

Mages=> Only semi-worthwhile form of dps=> rains=> rainbug=> proccing spell bp=> more damage taken from rainbug => paladin rain spell only hits them when there aren't enough targets=> wtf?!
