Fking -- (a.k.a. The Fizzle King a.k.a. Calaran)

So, I'm not sure if any of my group members from last night read these forums as everyone seemed to be an alt/twink except me, but... holy FIZZLE. Let's just say that in an undead area I, as a Necro, couldn't out-dps the Druid who was only healing, because my nukes fizzle about 10-15 times per successful cast. I know the reason for this (You have gotten better at evocation (12)!) but other than just going to newbie areas and repeatedly mashing the button for low level nukes... anything I can do to raise evocation more quickly as a Necro?

And if any of my group from last night is on the forums... sorry about that lackluster dps, but really appreciated the group invite.

go to your skill trainer and drop a few hundred plat on evocation

edit: in the mean time use your non evocation spells to do dps lol

I agree with Tryfaen here. Dump points into it at your trainer. Depending on your level, it goes up easier if your skill is closer to max for your level. So you'll skill up faster if you dump even 5-10 points into it. At level 37, try to dump points into it to get it at least up to 40 or so. You'll fizzle a LOT less and your skill will move up quicker.

It's only like a few silver (maybe a gold) per skill point. The money you spend on the skill is more efficient than taking time to sit around and cast an evocation spell repeatedly. To someone who plays casually like Cal does, the time is far more valuable.

My suggestion is using Expulse Undead (lvl 20 spell) as it's only 60 mana per cast. Get into a group that is just steamrolling undead and politely ask them if it's okay that you fizzle the crap out of some spells so you can skill up. Most groups that are solid will let you gimp along for a bit while training skills and such.

i leveled up a druid recently just on tradeskills and found i fizzled alot less with 0-4 skill than with 10+
i just waited and put 25 points into each and fizzle rate isn't that bad. pretty sure it was only like 1sp once it got to 20+

Awesome guys, thanks for the response. I had honestly forgot about being able to train it up at the trainer.

It sounds like it'd be rather cheap, but as Kukov said, with my playtime, I'll likely drop the plat instead... Heartlands has been good to me in that area lately anyway.

Thanks guys.
