Fixing dynamic lighting

Ive recently noticed with new spells for my ranger, the summoned firefly globe does provide lighting, but I have to either give up one of my weapons, or my bow to be able to see at night. I thought I'd post a request/suggestion to fix it so that a lightsource (such as a globe, LS, or GLS) works from an open inventory slot if possible.

yah, beetle eyes, and lightstones dont work for my ranger, but the summoned firefly globe does. but as mention above, I have to choose either to be offensively hampered, or blind. =/

Or ask any beastlord, shaman, or enchanter that happens by if you could bum a serpent sight buff on ya. Or maybe ultravision if they got it as well.
