Fixed Pather, Need help creating character

Like the title says the patcher freezes up when it hits thegrey_chr.txt
Was hoping someone could tell me how to fix this?
 
You can try downloading the patch files directly from the Downloads section. When I first tried to play I had a similiar issue with a different file. I finally broke down and completely removed EQ from my system and reinstalled EQ fresh and made sure I installed everything correctly. Worked fine ever since.
 
Ok, got past the patcher part now, everythings all patched up and up to speed but now when im creating a character after allocating my points and choosing race and class, whin i click the next button it freezes and the little box pops up saying that the game client has crashed. Anyone know whats up?

Same thing happens to me.
