So I am new to the fishing world and just hit the Level 200 mark at it, and figured id take a break at leveling it and try a few hours of fishing up maps, I use the wiki fishing page all the time but noticed it didn't talk about which levels of fishing fish up which maps, I know you can start getting them at 150, but at my current 200 skill level, highest i've got in a few hours of fishing is VE maps. Is there a forum page that I have missed that others talk about what is required, or if not maybe somebody can post here on the skills needed for what maps! Thanks and good luck on the fishing!!
 
I have 256 fishing and all I've caught so far is a simple map...what part of the zone were you fishing at? I fished my map at the druid port island but since then I switched to somewhere else and have caught nothing.
 
Expect to catch about 1 map (simple or otherwise) per 200 bait. That's generally been my experience. Some days you get lucky and get more, but I usually get one per 10 stacks of bait.
 
Fishing is a great way for newer players to get cash quickly but the return rate of time invested per map is such that you should only fish for maps at higher levels if u are desperate for the maps themselves. I have ?257 as I also have the harpoon from PoW but I can't guarantee to fish a VD map in a night's fishing merely that on average I will fish about 1000-1500 plat per 4 hours of fishing, sometimes a lot more sometimes a lot less. I stopped fishing sometime ago when I hit tier 5 because at that point you can farm so much more plat and get XP.
 
well the trick is, I fish and solo at the same time. Also you can only get 256 fishing with mods. While you're a lower level fishing is also not too shabby xp, you can make a druid for buffs and ports, level him to 30 then let fishing do the rest.
