First Ruins

I know I'm going to sound like a noob but how do you get to First Ruins? I know it connects to Valley of Erimal but I can't find the zone to it.
 
It's where the Hole was on live. Go into water past all those ghosts in Erimal and swim down and open "door" that looks like a rock. Swim on in. Prepare to get nuked. :) Have fun. Very cool zone.
 
Thanks, and one more question, I see Focus Effect: whatever on items, how do you activate the Focus Effects?
