Let me start off by saying that I think this zone is a real great zone and has lots of potential. The sivakian side along with the spiders in the basement below them are great. However, once you get to the Tarhyl/Bloodfire mobs, it seems as if the zone takes a turn for the worse. The main thing I notice when I am down there is the low XP off of these mobs for the time it takes to kill them. I suggest that their XP be increased to be more in line with their difficulty and also as a reward for the risk of being that deep in the zone; if you wipe, you lose, and you have at least 30 minute clear to get back where you were.

My second qualm with the zone in its current state is the lack of named mobs that I've seen there. It seems since post-Zhak-nerfdom that named mobs are rare, if ever spawn at all, which makes it a very unattractive zone to go to. I personally have camped several Sivakian nameds along with a few bloodfire nameds since the nerf and I'm beginning to question if they still exist. If at least some of the deeper nameds had an increased chance of spawning for a group I think this would increase the prestige of the zone greatly.

I think if these two could be addressed it would make it a little less of a ghost town as it has been lately!

Oh, just for comparison, take High Keep's named spawn rates for example. Today on the top floor with a group and each clear we got 2 of the 5 nameds to spawn for a few rotations giving us 40% chance at named spawn... which seems to be way higher than I've ever seen in FR with a group.
 
I agree with finster. I have been to FR many times, and have not seen a named after hours of clearing. I am also a bit disappointed that the zone is not finished. It would be great to see the rest of it populated.
 
I can attest to not seeing any nameds in FR ... ever. I wouldn't call this my prime xp spot thought. I have clear phs about 10 times for about 4 named I'd say, And yah the downstairs, past prison, mobs / Tarhyl mobs are hard and pretty awful xp. Tarhyll are buggy as hell to pull and just plain pita.
 
I'll have to agree.
Each time we clear there, we go to the bottom of the tower and clear around to the spiders.
In all the times I have been there, I have never ever seen a named up. Exp is cool (Sikavians/imps/spiders), but the easiest area (imps) holds 10x more rewards than the hardest ones. :psyduck:
 
Also chiming in with the "been there several times and have never seen a named either" crowd, they could certainly use a boost
 
Spent about, I dunno, something rediculous like 12+ hours there, clearing the lower mobs all night, and saw maybe 2 named spawns, and even then, it was only the first guy, who does the exploding thing (forget the name obv). The exp was not so great, the plat was terrible. Yes, we knew where the named spawn, we cleared the fastest path to them, to maximize our chances.

The only thing that even comes close to making it decent is the occasional random trash drop, which are nice, but they're far more rare than even seeing a named spawn.

Definitely agree with Finster, great zone, but it needs a little something to draw people in.
 
I remember time ago before Zhak nerf doing the 4 Syvak's nameds in the fastest way possible and getting 1 named per run (sometimes 2 if we were lucky).

Now I have gone like 3 times doing the same over 3 complete sesions of 3 hours or so and never seen a named at all. Also XP and pp are not great for its difficult which obviously has made FR out of my exping zones now.
 
Actually.
FR xp is really bad.
Compared to chain kill you can do in EC / HHK / Kedge / Rust factory.

About named.i 200% Agree with my class mate Finster..
I ve camped named for 3 Rl days chain killing 5 PH ( all sivakians + Spider ).... 15 hours per day...and i only had 1 spider named....I was very frustrated...
while i can duo with my cleric HHK royals , killing all named there and nearly always have once Up to kill by clearing.
So now i just dont farm item anymore because it give me Horrible nightmare !!!
 
Been to FR several times and have also never seen a named spawn. The exp per mob is pretty solid, but when you take your average exp per hour, it is pretty terrible. As stated already, chain killing quickly in several other zones is just way better. In most areas in FR you need a splitter and/or an enchanter, making killing even slower. As is, the zone is not worth the exp or the cash loot. However, I do agree this zone could be a great zone with a few changes. It is big enough and diverse enough to offer a great exp zone for those of us who are 65+.

Just gonna chime in agreeing with pretty much all thats been said in this thread.

FR is not attractive at all any more.
 
Posting in this good thread. FR is infact everything said about it in this thread. Ghost town and not worth the effort. Zhak inspired nerfs have really crapped this zone up.
 
what about boost up the difficulty there...?
Rust factory is meant to be the most difficult area to farm xp & pp there. it has become really trivial with correct setup and high end gear/aa...
With the implantation of ToT/ Thaz / Sanctum for steel.?
I think getting very High end pretty hardcore xp place with no drop but not useless stuff would be A+
I dont know .. like named droping No drop augments , or some High end quest piece involved in it.

Seriously at High end , farming xp & stuff is becoming so trivial it's just overkill...
Even HHK basement can be duoed nicely ( named in it ) with a good SK / cleric or Monk/ Shaman / druid combo..

Its not too hard to figure out how to remedy FR being kinda crap....undo all the changes that were made to kick Zhak in the teeth and call it a day. The kind of loot that drops there is worth subpar xp/hour and worth needing specific class(s) in group, provided you get to see a namer.
 
We all basically agree with you all, as well. The dev crew has been talking about doing something to un-fuck FR for about a month now. We haven't hit on a good solution yet (and putting it back the way it was is not an option), but we've got a couple ideas that we plan to test.
 
BTW I strongly disagree with suggestion of turning this into a lowbie zone. Lowbies have TON of content. With many zones that can be revisited once you are higher level. Where can I go at 65 and have some fun is limited to just a few zones I think around 8. If you would like to work towards your charm and get some money at lvl 65 your choices are even more limited. Cause getting like 500 pp for 3 hours of groupin sucks.

Sweet, good to know you all are talking about it. Any changes to make it more attractive to exp in would be great! New nameds, more mobs, more exp, etc, would be great ideas~
