Finding gear for a buck fifty

Okay, I'm kinda at loss how I find gear that's in my budget.
I spent 2 hours or so yesterday hunting through the website listing looking at the gear trying to find gear that looked like it could be cheap, only to find the 3-5 int pants were like 100p etc.

I had about 50p to burn to hopefully upgrade 2 of my 5 empty slots on my char. Yes I'm fresh to game, only been playing a week now.

I really didn't find anything worth while. Is there anyway to list things by price? Or is there a better / quicker method than, looking at web database, finding an item that could be in my price range, then going in game to get the prices from that seller?

I eventually gave up and went npc vendor shopping and found a great range item for 30 something plat that had companion strength 2 on it and a cheap 10p weapon with a proc for my pet.

Honestly man when i started here in dec and it was the same way. I had some guys that hooked me up with a couple of things but i noticed at the lower levels it really doesnt matter. I saved everything i could for spells and just bought some shitty vendor stuff to "look" like i wasnt naked.
There were some really cool quests though depending on your class. There were Thurgadin and starfall which adds 4 parts to your set of gear. T maps are huge too which they have low stuff for. There are also noobie armor quests which really do wonders. I thought about that though when i started and avoided the tank esk classes because they are always so gear dependant in every game. Sometimes you luck out and get a bag of awesome from some higher players, i remember people letting me keep the splits or like the drops when stuff dropped.
I hope that helps!

The lower gear generally does not sell for enough that most people consider it worth their time. Your best bet is probably to ask about the lower quality tradeskilled pieces from established tskillers. Some people will make and sell throwbacks, but thats not super common either because of the incredibly small profit margin.

First of all NEVER buy weapons for pets, ether ask a frendly mage to summon some or just put what ever drops on them. Espeicaly at your level 10pp on a item that goes bye bye if your pet dies is a waste.

I take it from your post your a Int caster... check out cheap Jewlery player vendors selling off skill up items. Rings, Earrings, Neck

Your level would help as well.... honestly the best and biggest upgrade I found for a Int caster at low level.... Mitherl Dagger

Armor be dam when you can stab everything to death quickly :)

PS - Look for Soft Leather as cheap filler (ether looting it or buying some), do your newbie quests for some nice upgrades. Cheap Wiki out for lots of these quests all over.

* My first char on SoD was a Mage, and i found the explosive flame gear to be awesome (mage newbie quest gear in newport). 3 of the 4 Int casters have a questline there, definately check that out.
* Also, if you want cheap buyable gear, the Wyvernfang Armor Quest is decent low end gear, and the quest items for it are buyable, for all classes.
* As an int caster, you could farm up some spider silk and a few plat, and see if a tailor will turn it into cured silk for you.
* Checking through the tailoring page on the wiki will provide you with a reference point on gear, so at least you will know what to look for, and as for prices, a price check in /auc can often lead to a solid answer. (i.e. /auc PC on Hopperhide Cloak please)
* Finally, i suggest picking up a habit that I have. I randomly Fomelo lots of people, when I see them run by, and think they might be my class I fomelo them, at least then I get an idea of what level range certain gear is for, as in who should bother trying to afford such-and-such item.
P.S. if you are in Delaya's Beginners, keep your eyes open for Fanny, and others who do random lotteries/giveaways ;)
Oh yeah, I also suggest filling every slot with SOMETHING, even cloth. When I start, that is first priority, get something in every slot, even crap gear, then upgrade my worst piece, then my next worst, etc.

Post your character name in thread, and ill send you a few items based on what I think would be upgrades after looking at your fomelo.

Well I guess by lack of answer that there isn't any quick easy way to hunt the auctions, was really hoping I was missing something on that.
I've had good luck vendor shopping so far in athica and newport, found several of my pieces of armor there, my staff, ranged slot.

Coolbeans at fomelo, didn't know about that till I looked it up just now, nifty.

go to the banker and check your mail. enjoy!

sent you 6 items i think:

robe of flowing water, 2 x plat jade rings w/ plat augs, 2 x plat jade earrings, and a crystalline choker. range increment and casting speed increases, combined with the massive hp/mana upgrades for you should make it a bit easier starting off as an int caster- just help someone else out later on when you make your money =P

Thanks so much, you can bet I will pay it forward , no worries there. If you need something farmed or camped let me know, be glad to return the favor sometime.

When I started, Chrux gave me free tboots and an emerald scale robe, along with some platinum. I just randomly get the urge to buy low level mains a few pieces of gear, and this just happened to be one of those times.
