Feedback Request: New quests in todays patch - June 16th

In the patch this morning we added low level experience quests to most starting cities which are repeatable a limited number of times. Their main purpose is to assist in exp gain slightly to give a little bit of an alternative to straight grinding, and provide players with a means of gaining experience in their starting areas instead of having to all migrate to one area as it's deemed the "best" grinding spot. They won't be a complete alternative, perse, but you'll be rewarded for doing the tasks requested of you while exping.

The only city that currently doesn't have these quests is Surefall, as it's very close to Newport.

So I would like everyones feedback that have tried out these quests, currently they range from 1-10. If the feedback is positive, I'll begin working on them for higher levels as well.

Will the NPCs be on a day.night timer?

Seems to me that if you miss your turn-in time, you might be too high once they come back at this level to even worry about the quest.

They're fiercely dedicated to seeing these jobs through, and will neglect sleep if need be.

Just started playin WR a few days ago. Made a gnome necro in Newport. Hard to tell what quests are new and what ones are for lowbies, and most of the npc's there dont want to talk to me anyway 8(

Maybe some hints as to what to look for to start them? 8)

I started an Iksar warrior to try out the quests, by the time I had reached level 6, by killing nothing but mosquitos, swamp leeches and froglok tadpoles. I had 2 of each items he had requested for the 3 different quests and the critters had gone green to me. Now I still don't know what the rewards are so i can't comment on whether it was worth it to keep killing the greens in hopesof getting the rest of the items he requested.

I've been running alts around a couple of the newbie areas to give it a try. Nothing but good experiences so far; extra chunk of exp/faction/cash for hunting stuff I'd be going after anyway is nice. I'd love see the same kind of thing in mid-high levels.

First off, thanks to listening to us about the unbalanced starting zones!

I tried to do the newport ones, I killed everything but focued on beetles to get the legs, and I only got 2 of them before beetles were green. I think maybe if I killed nothing but beetles I'd get four of the legs, but I'd level so slowly by limiting myself to just beetles that it wouldn't be worth it. I think the frequency of the drops needs to be increased.

I also tried to do some of the gnome ones, but the newbie place is still so horrendous even with questing I left for Newport as its concentration of creatures is still the absolute best way to level. I suggest adding some newbie spawns at the gnome place where you go straight out of the entrance and take a right as soon as possible, that place has newbie mobs in EQLive and I think it would make the gnome starting area playable.

Thanks!

Same experience with the giant beetle legs, only managed to get enough to do it once before the beetles went green. Maybe that's ok, but I could use some faction help 8)

Keep in mind there are beetles in the sewers, meaning you can acquire parts for all three of those quests while exping. The faction is helpful also.

In Stinger's Bog, my necro never spent enough time in the level range of leeches and mosquitos to get 4, although I did kill enough frogloks to get multiple sets. It wasn't as much exp as killing a froglok at lvl 10+, but all exp helps.

The Large Beetle legs one doesn't drop enough. I killed those things for 30min straight and only had two drop. Darksun headbands drop more then those legs.

Interesting, the legs have a considerably greater droprate than those headbands. Maybe you had a streak of bad luck?

Might have been a bad streak. It was kind of odd though. I got everthing else to drop beetle eyes and two stacks of legs.

I ran all three of the Newport quests last night, and like the others, found the drop rates to be a little low.

For the beetles, I collected one and a half stacks of regular beetle legs and two bags full of eyes before I got the fourth giant beetle leg.

For the rats in the sewers it was much better. I only had to clear two sets of spawns to get the required four.

The rat hoods were somewhat inbetween. They took a decent amount of time to get but at least they drop from both the ratlings and the full-grown ratmen.

I didn't get any large increase in faction for doing these which is not surprising. I am a little curious as to how the faction bumps for these compare to the gathering the crops quest and for turning in gnoll ears. As of now, the drop rates seem too low to make these worth repeating just for faction.
