Familliars vs Pets

Not a official request or anything but i'm curuous as to why familliars cant /pet guard or /pet follow etc etc and regular pets triumph

I see a WIZ with a dragon and 5 swords on a regular base - AA pets ftw...

Mages have 52349872349823098427823 pets...give or take a few.

But yeah...

You can have one pet or one familiar that stays with you until it dies (or until the buff runs out in the case of the familiar), and you can have many pets from AA or Monster Summoning/Procs/Clickies (however, these are all short(er) duration).
