Fame points suck and should be something that it is looked into. Fame in its current state is harder to get than a girl for half of us neck beards. This is the current fame structure

200 points: Level - 1 Level
50 points, must be level 51: AA - 1 AA
5 points: Money - 20 platinum
500 points: Race Change within class restrictions (/petition to claim).
1000 points: Custom Title (/petition to claim).
1500 points: Race Change (/petition to claim).
5 points: Portal Passage (Mansion of Portals Only)
10 points: Illusion: Iksar

almost all of that shit nobody gives a crap about at this time. Not only that but all of the values are extremely too high due to the fact that fame is never awarded / almost all of the items are garbage by today's standards.

please discuss your hate for the current values of fame system and ways you think it should be improved.

-Allow them to buy use of the armor dye function

-Allow people to buy chunks of donator status with fame (P.S. Offer a summonable djinn merchant to donators with a limited bankroll and large cooldown, YES allow them to summon it in dungeons, ugh. I'd like to even see some kind of limited banker option for those times you forgot a quest item or something in there but I'm trying to be realistic)

-Allow people to spend fame to have an item named after one of their characters, add this request to a database for devs making content to see, keep them completely uninvolved in the design of the item what they get is what they get even if it's an item in the warrens or something

-Expand on the exp potion idea to let them grant a temporary exp bonus to everyone they group with for like 24 hours or whatever

-Allow players to spend fame to raise a city guard faction back up to dubious (not my favourite idea, would need checks and balances)

-Create a new token inventory item to buy that gives a slight discount when using the healer and buff NPCs and don't price it stupidly

-Offer summon food and water clickies, they are ubiquitous now so it's not like this is outlandish





Fame is supposed to be a reward, I get not wanting to allow players to buy power but as it stands now the name change and race change are big carrots on a stick and the only reason people have any interest in obtaining fame. It's not like giving them impulse buys that are worthwhile will stop them striving for those things, in fact (shhh) it may keep them chasing it longer.

P.s. I think it would be really interesting to see the sum total of fame handed out in the past 4 years or so. Possibly to reinforce that current fame prices are too high but also just because it would be a cool figure to see.

I would totally head to the warrens and farm the Ranseur's Stick of Stupidity, just to say, "look at this, a weapon named after me!" Good or bad, it would be a cool honor.

Rorne had really good points about that djinni theres already the MQ behemot you can summon in EJ thats a banker.

Another good option would be to give fame for diffrent kind of status like 1fame /month for silver +2 for gold and +4 for platinum.

Give better rewards for donation not game breaking but more things that are nice to have.

If you offered better rewards i would donate.
