Fading Buffs

I was out kiting treants this morning and a buff faded. I don't know what buff it was. I was completely buff locked. It might have been important, it might not have been.

So I scratched my head and mentioned it to my partner, and he also says one of his buffs faded, but we can't figure out what it was because we buffed separately before heading out. So he says, "It would be nice if you got a message about what buff faded when it fades."

"Yeah, it would. Hey, that's a great idea - I'm going to go post on it right now!"

Basically, half-asleep idiot rangers like me (and probably other idiots...er...classes) would really appreciate it if we could get a message that popped up and said "Hey (stupid), that crappy ranger regen you put up for who knows what reason just faded. Don't worry, it wasn't resists or hastes, so you're good."

Well you already get messages if you buffed in a zone and don't leave it and it fades... which I guess pretty much never happens due to PL.

While I'm picking around in buffs later today, I'll see how doable it is. It would likely have to be an 'imminent expiration' sort of thing during its last tick, and obviously would need to exclude bard songs.

i agree i always wonder that also.

It is helpful seeing when your casted buffs wear off, but i always miss my damn pet buffs when they wear off anyway somehow

I would think that this would not be too difficult to do, considering Levi and Illusions both have warning messages as theyre fading. "You feel like you are about to fall." & "You are about to feel like yourself again"

Just having a line that pops up 2 or 3 times stating "Your <spell name> is fading from your character" when the buff begins to blink and fade would be very handy.
