Faction Changes?

I'm not sure if these were listed somewhere, and I'm going to assume they were... OR that I'm just completely off my rocker as that's definitely a possibility as well... but here's the thing that happened:

I fought in Shrouded Isle as well as The Warrens and The Ruins of the First City a lot from around lvl 10 up to when I sorta took a break from playing around level 24... I am a Dark Elf Necromancer.

Last night, I jumped into the Mansion of Portals, headed to the Erudin portal, stuck my head out, and almost instantly had it removed from my shoulders by the Erudite guards around there. Now, I didn't even THINK to con them because I've run through Erudin (I am 99% sure) 100 times with my Necro and never had a problem. Luckily for me, this gave me a free trip back to the south side of North Badlands so I could experience that jog all over again ;).

In all seriousness, I still love the changes I've seen thus far (especially the Mansion of Portals) and will learn to work around this if it IS intentional... but, am I really supposed to be KOS in Erudin? I've done nothing to adversely effect my faction I don't believe... If anything, killing in the three mentioned zones should have helped my faction a bit. So, I'm not exactly sure what happened, but I would just appreciate knowing whether I somehow screwed up my faction, whether it has always been like this and I must have been using narcotics for the entire time-period, OR whether this has been a change made... and then, for that fact, if it IS a change that has been made, whether it was accidental or purposeful. As I said, if it's a purposeful change, I'll just remember to have invis up when heading to Erudin, but I just thought I'd check.

I had the same happen to my gnome necro. I went off to Steamfont to hunt and when I went back to the Newport Sewers to buy my spells I was killed by the mummys. I have never done any quests to effect my faction. I had to make a necro-alt to buy the spells for me.
 
You port to the Eruidin casters guild, which is typically more anti-evil (necro + shad) than the rest of erudin, the erudites probably do like you, but as soon as one of the casters that hang around the port in saw you, it also social aggrod the guards to smack you. I cant go near the warrior GM in newport due to hurting my faction a little due to the main quest 'capture the citizens' quest (Volkov ripped through 2 or 3 with a crit :mad:) Im warmly with the guards, but threatening with the warrior GM, so if he aggros, and runs by a guard, the guards will aggro on me.

As far as the newport sewers being anti-gnome necro, I have no idea, it doesnt seem right.
 
I know there s always been a character (lady whatever) threatening to my Iksar necro in Erudin Palace , so I suppose there s an aggressive faction there ; but the fact that guards attacked you is weird ; go slay Warrens a few and it will be reverted :)
About Mummies in sewers it's pertty weird, might need a look at ; will have a look too.
About SNP, the fact that the GM alerts other guard is weird , it doesn't happen when you train a Paladin Initiiate at bank (omg don't nerf that lol)

The paladin initiates USED to aggro the guards, but being KOS to them doesnt bother me, I slay them without hesitation now, of course I havent gone to newport in a long time now. I try to avoid it because its the zone that seems to crash the most. :)
