Hi all , im relatively new to eq servers (Im a original player from the time of kunark)

but my question is:

The guide states to update until ykesha for the zone files , I never got ykesha , but have planes of power & Lost dungeons , is it advisable to install these before patching or to just install up to shadows of luclin and use the update feature for the zones?

I actually let computer run overnight with the patcher download frome the site. I then instruct it to pull the files for all the needed expansions. It is actually less time consuming than sitting swapping CDs all day, THEN having to patch forever. Just let it go at night.

But if you want to, yea, i dont advise you to install any from CDs that arent in SoD, as thats just extra computer space.

Something I'd done was to download the patcher from sony and let it run overnight to download everything. Next day(today) while I was out I went and grabbed a legitimate copy of all the expansions id' gotten from a friend of mine who is now addicted to WoW. I didn't need to mind you since sony is technicly giving this stuff away so people will play thier old servers(although from a legal standpoint i'm sure it would be better if you have the hardcopies avalible in your arcives). However....its a method that works, and works supprizingly well.

Alright guys thanks , ill just dl the files through sony , >:8 I installed up to luclin , and i do own the majority of mods really

I just didnt want to make any complications , cus as many of us know , emulated servers tend to not like them :8

Actually you only need to install up to...hell forget the name of the expansion but its in a forum topic as well as the requirements page. Not sure what installing past that if anything would do other than increase the DL time.

Yeah I installed up to luclin , bvut imn a worry wort and desire to have my Planes of Power tomes at any cost :8

There are no PoP tomes. :)

Also, the guide says which expansions we use, so just follow that.
