How often does this reset?

I am now in negative %'s in the following zones:
Citadel
Blood Quarry
Kaesora

I have 0% modifiers in the following zones:
Emberflow
First Ruins


I am starting to run out of good places to exp without being penalized. I would like to propose a possible change to the way the current new zone modifier is used. I think each % should last for a certain exp (I think this is how it currently is), but right now as it can only go down. I propose that for every 5x-10x the exp number in a different zone then the exp bonus will go up. For instance if it takes 100K exp to go from 50% to 10% in a zone if you get 500K-1M exp in other zones you will go back up to 50% bonus in the starting zone. This will promote rotation between what zones people normally exp in much better than the current system.
 
I have the same problem as you Shimone, Jarh as well. Personally I would rather see a bump by 5% (maybe more?) to all zone exp modifiers, and just lose the whole bonus exp thing. I feel being penalized because I want to only exp in a few zones is silly. If want to spend the rest of my life farming in Mielech C, I shouldn't have my exp penalized for it.
 
It takes 400+ AA of experience gained to reset the area bonuses now. Susmane has penalties in all of the good exp zones and is still 50aa away from a reset.

It was doubled to 400aa when they added the +100/50% bonuses which was supposed to be an overall gain in exp. However, due to the fact that most zones are awful exp compared to the popular ones and 100/50% bonuses are gone in a few pulls in a zone, this ended up being a nerf to exp.
 
Branch out into more zones. Destroying noobie zones with a 100 or 50 new area solo is really good exp and kinda fun. Sorry newbies the other zones are bad exp.

I took my bst to sorcs lab when it was blessed and slaughtered everything in the zone. Even with 50% blessed bonus and 50/100% new area bonus the exp was not very good. I've tried mielc, CC, remnants, and others, and they all were not as good as OG, FR, etc.

If the 50/100% bonuses lasted more than half an hour and all the lower end 65 exp zones gave a bit better base exp I'd like this current system a lot more. As it is, it is an overall exp nerf though.
 
really how long the zone bonus lasts should be based on how hard the zone is. the lower end 65 zones should have the bonus last way longer then the top xp zones.

edit: also i don't think the zone bonus should take that long to go away. like if you dont xp in a zone for a week your penalty should go away completely.

The whole negative xp thing is dumb. It just makes people not even want to xp.

Camping Quickstream for ~6 weeks almost daily for the caster haste with no luck is already
bad enough,but why I get an additional penalty is beyond me.It didnt made me move to
another zone but not playing at all for 2 months.
Also at 55 with all AAs you cant even reset the zones xp penalties.
Please remove the zone xp penalty concept completly,xp should be based on difficulty of zone/mobs only.

I remember a discussion when those modifiers were put in. I could've sworn that the original implementation was intended for the AAXP to either be unaffected by the bonus modifers or for AAXP gained to progress toward a separate exp bonus reset. I also remember that never really happened, but the concept was supposed to prevent this specific issue.

This should probably get looked at. There are several easy coding fixes for this; staff could just decide how they want it to work out. I wasn't even aware this could happen. I mean, sure it makes sense, but it never crosses my mind. I bet it never crossed most of theirs, either.
