As soon as I hit connect at the username/pw screen the window closes. There's no firewall interfereing, I've reset modem / router, I've deleted eqmain.dll / eqgame.exe and repatched to live, deleted files.txt, eqw, sodbin / patcher, and repatched all in the SoD patcher. Also tried deleting eqmain.dll / eqgame.exe and repatching all strictly from SoD. Also reinstalled .net and DX + video / sound drivers. Pretty much everything I could think of, short of deleting and repatching the whole Game.

This started happening after the server crashed tonight. Please help, no one likes a frustrated retard

it's the same problem as here http://www.shardsofdalaya.com/forum/index.php?topic=8271.0 , except mine is success on 00023, but no luck with a virus/spyware scan, shutting down and unplugging router/modem/computer for a few minutes.

Tried deleting all the custom ui's as suggested, deleted eqclient.ini. When I re-ran the game after deleting eqclient, i tried running the game bare, selected no new models 800x600 (norm is 10x7) no options and low texture quality. Also tried disabling/enabling EQw No luck and same errors.

You said you have a router. Have you tried disabling its firewall?

Tried with all router firewall options disabled, no workie.

My router's user manual says I can specify a client/server as a demilitarized zone (JFC), but no instructions how, and no options I can find to do such a thing. So, it's back in the box. No router/firewall, straight from cable modem to the ethernet card, fresh boot (pc and modem), and no windows firewall. Same problem, same errors .

To be more clear, the router doesn't offer the option of disabling the firewall, just it's options (which I also tried). I tried disabling the NAT, which the instructions say would interfere with gaming (though never have before, i guess), but that disables internet acccess completely. I'm still not clear if/how i'm supposed tag the login as a DMZ, of if DMZ is even relevent tbh.

I had this happen to me last night. I deleted the eqmain.dll file, repatched all (sod patcher not live), hit advanced and turned off eqwindows, and then I was able to log on. I then loged off and turned eqwindows back on and I was able to log on. I got this error with the resets getting the snowball fight up and running. I was trying for an hour to get it working and I restarted a few times so I dont know of you have to delete the dll file then restart like the popup says and do the rest.
